That the Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei Reserves Board:

a)           agree to adjourn the meeting at 6.53pm until 7.20pm.

a)           accept the apology from Grant Hawke for absence.

            Note

 

The board passed on their thoughts and well wishes to Grant Hawke, noting that he was missed and is a valued member of the board and wished him a speedy recovery.

The board also acknowledged the passing of Cr Linda Cooper’s father and expressed their sympathy and condolences to Cr Linda Cooper and her whanau.

That the Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei Reserves Board:

a)           agree to consider the possibility of an internship programme as an extraordinary item under item 10

b)          note the reason that the internship programme was not on the agenda is that the matter came to our attention after the close of the agenda.

That the Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei Reserves Board:

a)      approve the project plan for the master plan

b)      agree to co-invest with Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei Trust in the development of the master plan

c)      approve $50,000 as their contribution from the 2017 - 18 budget and request that Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei Trust and/or its subsidiaries to contribute to the completion of the masterplan

d)      approve in principle a new project be explored to combine and update the Pourewa Creek Recreation Reserve and Whenua Rangatira management plans to create a seamless cohesive management plan that enables developments aligned with the vision and masterplan.

Consideration of Extraordinary Business

 

10.1

Internship programme for the Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei Reserves Board

 

The chair suggested that the board consider the possibility of an internship programme for the Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei Reserves Board.

 

 

Resolution number NGA/2017/32

MOVED by Mr R Blair, seconded by Deputy Chairperson D Simpson:  

That the Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei Reserves Board:

a)         supports the Chairperson’s proposal to initiate an internship programme for the Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei Reserves Board noting:

i)       that two places be available for interested members of our communities who wish to shadow our hui and workshop

ii)     chairperson and deputy chairperson will be responsible for the selection of the two interested members for the pilot

iii)   the chairperson to select a Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei candidate and the deputy chairperson to select an Auckland resident for the pilot

iv)   the pilot will be non-fee paying in the first year.
