Resolution number DTCF/2017/34 MOVED by Chairperson G Gillon, seconded by Member J McKenzie: That the Devonport-Takapuna Local Board: a) confirm the ordinary minutes of its meeting, held on Tuesday, 5 September 2017, as a true and correct record.

The departing 2017 chairperson’s Maitreyi Jain and Mae Everett were in attendance to address the Devonport-Takapuna Local Board regarding their activities undertaken during 2017. Maitreyi Jain and Mae Everett introduced the incoming 2018 chairperson, Henry Pivac to the local board. A powerpoint presentation was provided. A copy has been placed on the official minutes and is available to view on the Auckland Council website as a minutes attachment.

Resolution number DTCF/2017/35 MOVED by Member J McKenzie, seconded by Chairperson G Gillon: That the Devonport-Takapuna Local Board: a)
receives the presentation from Maitreyi
Jain, Mae Everett, and Henry Pivac, of Younite and thank them
for their attendance. b) thanks the outgoing joint chairperson’s Maitreyl Jain, and Mae Everett for their achievements in the group in 2017.

Peter Burn, Manager and James Bell, Business Manager of North Shore Theatre and Arts Trust were in attendance to address the Devonport-Takapuna Local Board on the proposed re-naming of the indoor theatre to ‘Genevieve Becroft Theatre’ and a proposed installation of a shade cover between the theatre and café. A document explaining the courtyard concept plan and the placement of the Genevieve Becroft plaque was provided. A copy has been placed on the official minutes and is available to view on the Auckland Council website as a minutes attachment.

Sonia Thursby, Manager of YES Disability and Ian Lim, Youth Representative of Younite, were in attendance to address the Devonport-Takapuna Local Board on the activities and work that YES Disability including collaboration from the Younite group had undertaken in the former Takapuna RSA building (Shore Junction). A powerpoint presentation was provided. A copy has been placed on the official minutes and is available to view on the Auckland Council website as a minutes attachment.
