Hauraki Gulf Forum - Chairperson's Report (November 2017)

Hauraki Gulf Forum Executive Officer's Report

 

Cr M Lee entered the meeting at 1.14 pm.

 

 

 

The Executive Officer gave an overview of the report and advised of an update to be included in the ‘Summary of the current status of agency response to Sea Change’ attachment D of the agenda. He also provided a verbal update regarding the July-September 2017 ship speed monitoring result report. A copy has been placed on the official minutes and is available on the Auckland Council website as minutes attachments.

Following the recent election and new Government appointments, agencies are preparing material to inform Ministers on Sea Change and will be seeking their guidance on next steps.

a)         exclude the public from the following part(s) of the proceedings of this meeting.

b)        agree that Shane Kelly and Carina Sim-Smith of Coast and Catchment Ltd, Jacky Bartley, Bartley Planning Ltd, Brent Cowie, Cowie Resource Management Ltd, and Graeme Campbell, Campbells Consulting Ltd, be permitted to remain for Confidential Item 7 Hauraki Gulf Forum - Chairperson's Report (November 2017) - Attachment a - Draft Chair and Deputy letter / Foreword to the Minister of Conservation and Item 11  Update: Preparation of 2017 State of the Environment report November 2017) - Attachment a - Draft summary of the full report after the public has been excluded, because of their professional services in developing the documents, which will help the in its decision-making.

Update: Preparation of 2017 State of the Environment report November 2017

 

Resolution number HGF/2017/47

MOVED by Member P Majurey, seconded by Member R McGuire:  

That the Hauraki Gulf Forum

a)      delegate to the Chair and Deputy Chair:

i)        to give final approval of the full report 2017 State of the Environment report before the end of 2017, subject further consultation by the report writers with tangata whenua representatives of the forum;

ii)       to give final approval of the ‘At a Glance: State of our Gulf 2017’ summary of the 2017 State of the Environment report, subject further consultation by the report writers with tangata whenua representatives of the forum; and

ii)      approval to submit the report to the Minister of Conservation, before the end of 2017, inclusive of:

·      Chair and Deputy Chair foreword / conveyance letter (a draft of which is attached as a confidential attachment and as amended in the confidential section of the agenda);

·      ‘At a Glance: State of our Gulf 2017’ summary, once finalised as per point (a) (ii) above; and

·                the full report, once finalised as per point (a) (i) above.

Notes:  Pursuant to Standing Order 3.14.5, Mayor Sandra Goudie requested that her dissenting vote be recorded.

Pursuant to Standing Order 3.14.4, Cr Dal Minogue requested that his abstention from voting be recorded.

Restatement
