Standing Order 3.20 provides for deputations. Those applying for deputations are required to give seven working days notice of subject matter and applications are approved by the Chairperson of the Kaipātiki Local Board Community Forum. This means that details relating to deputations can be included in the published agenda. Total speaking time per deputation is ten minutes or as resolved by the meeting.

 

 

8.1       Birkenhead United Association Football Club

Purpose

1.       The purpose of this deputation is to address the Kaipātiki Local Board regarding Birkenhead United Association Football Club.

Executive Summary

2.       Dave Newick, President of the Birkenhead United Association Football Club (BUAFC) will be in attendance to address the Kaipatiki Local Board to provide an update the board on developments at Shepherds Park, particularly seating on a bank overlooking the lower fields, and on the future growth of BUAFC.

 

Recommendation/s

That the Kaipātiki Local Board:

a)      receive the deputation from Birkenhead United Association Football Club.

b)      thank Dave Newick and the Birkenhead United Association Football Club for their attendance and presentation.

 

 

 

8.2       Whānau Mārama Parenting

Purpose

1.       The purpose of this deputation is to address the Kaipātiki Local Board regarding Whānau Mārama Parenting.

Executive Summary

2.       Tamati Ihaka and Haiying Dong of Whānau Mārama Parenting will be in attendance to address the Kaipatiki Local Board regarding the work of Whānau Mārama Parenting in the community.

 

Recommendation/s

That the Kaipātiki Local Board:

a)      receive the deputation from Whānau Mārama Parenting.

b)      thank Tamati Ihaka, Haiying Dong and Whānau Mārama Parenting for their attendance and presentation.

 

 

 

8.3       North Shore Hospital Auxiliary

Purpose

1.       The purpose of this deputation is to address the Kaipātiki Local Board regarding the North Shore Hospital Auxiliary.

Executive Summary

2.       Linda Smalley, President of the North Shore Hospital Auxiliary will be in attendance to address the Kaipatiki Local Board regarding the work of North Shore Hospital Auxiliary in the community.

 

Recommendation/s

That the Kaipātiki Local Board:

a)      receive the deputation from North Shore Hospital Auxiliary.

b)      thank Linda Smalley and North Shore Hospital Auxiliary for their attendance and presentation.

 

 

 

8.4       Birkenhead Residents Association

Purpose

1.       The purpose of this deputation is to address the Kaipātiki Local Board regarding the Birkenhead Residents Association.

Executive Summary

2.       Gillian Taylor, Chair and Carol Haywood of the Birkenhead Residents Association will be in attendance to address the Kaipatiki Local Board to present their Neighbourhood Plan to the board.

8.5       Birkdale Beach Haven Community Project

Purpose

1.       The purpose of this deputation is to address the Kaipātiki Local Board regarding Birkdale Beach Haven Community Project.

Executive Summary

2.       Carla van Walen of the Birkdale Beach Haven Community Project will be in attendance to provide an update on their work and achievements over the past six months.

 

Recommendation/s

That the Kaipātiki Local Board:

a)      receive the deputation from Birkdale Beach Haven Community Project.

b)      thank Carla van Walen and the Birkdale Beach Haven Community Project for their attendance and presentation.

 

 

 

9          Public Forum

 

A period of time (approximately 30 minutes) is set aside for members of the public to address the meeting on matters within its delegated authority. A maximum of 3 minutes per item is allowed, following which there may be questions from members.

10        Extraordinary Business

 

Section 46A(7) of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 (as amended) states:

 

“An item that is not on the agenda for a meeting may be dealt with at that meeting if-

 

(a)        The local authority by resolution so decides; and

 

(b)        The presiding member explains at the meeting, at a time when it is open to the public,-

 

(i)         The reason why the item is not on the agenda; and

 

(ii)        The reason why the discussion of the item cannot be delayed until a subsequent meeting.”

 

Section 46A(7A) of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 (as amended) states:

 

“Where an item is not on the agenda for a meeting,-

 

(a)        That item may be discussed at that meeting if-

 

(i)         That item is a minor matter relating to the general business of the local authority; and

 

(ii)        the presiding member explains at the beginning of the meeting, at a time when it is open to the public, that the item will be discussed at the meeting; but

 

(b)        no resolution, decision or recommendation may be made in respect of that item except to refer that item to a subsequent meeting of the local authority for further discussion.”
