That the Kaipātiki Local Board:

a)         confirm the ordinary minutes of its meeting, held on Wednesday, 29 November 2017, as a true and correct record.

Deputy Chair John Gillon acknowledged the work of Danielle Grant in her role as Chairperson of the Kaipātiki Local Board, noting her passion and commitment in the role and particularly her work regarding the Rawene Road Carpark Slip.

This item was deferred as the presenters were unavailable.

Harbour Basketball

 

John Hunt, Chief Executive of Harbour Basketball, and Cameron Rennie of Parklife were in attendance to address the Kaipātiki Local Board regarding the provision of outdoor basketball courts in the Kaipātiki Local Board area.

A presentation was provided. A copy has been placed on the official minutes and is available on the Auckland Council website as a minutes attachment.

That the Kaipātiki Local Board:

a)        receive the deputation from Harbour Basketball.

b)        thank John Hunt, Cameron Rennie and Harbour Basketball for their attendance and presentation.

Kaipātiki Local Youth Board update

 

Nina Kluge, Deputy Chair of the Kaipātiki Local Youth Board provided a verbal update on the activities of the Kaipātiki Local Youth Board.

That the Kaipātiki Local Board:

a)        receive the Kaipātiki Local Youth Board update.

Calliope Athletic Club

 

Peter Jonkers and Greg Arnold of the Calliope Athletic Club were in attendance to address the Kaipātiki Local Board regarding the role of the club in the community, the opportunities they provide for the community to get involved in athletics and facilitating healthy lifestyle options.

A presentation was provided. A copy has been placed on the official minutes and is available on the Auckland Council website as a minutes attachment.

That the Kaipātiki Local Board:

a)         receive the deputation from Calliope Athletic Club.

b)        thank Peter Jonkers, Greg Arnold and the Calliope Athletic Club for their attendance and presentation.

Geoff Taylor and Paul Norris

 

Geoff Taylor and Paul Norris were in attendance to address the Kaipātiki Local Board regarding recent changes to parking in Rodney Road, Northcote Point.

A petition titled ‘Angled Parking in Rodney Road, Northcote Point’ and a document titled Kaipātiki Local Board Presentation, 28th February 2018 Rodney Road Safety Concern – Angled Parking Bays’ were tabled. Copies have been placed on the official minutes and are available on the Auckland Council website as a minutes attachment.

MOVED by Deputy Chairperson J Gillon, seconded by Chairperson D Grant:  

That the Kaipātiki Local Board:

a)         receive the deputation from Geoff Taylor and Paul Norris.

b)        thank Geoff Taylor and Paul Norris for their attendance and presentation.

c)         receive the petition and associated papers from residents of Northcote Point regarding angled parking on Rodney Road and forward to Auckland Transport.

d)        receive the signed letter from Northcote Point businesses in support of the petition from local residents and forward to Auckland Transport

e)         request Auckland Transport investigate reverting the new angle parking on Rodney Road, Northcote Point, back to the former parallel parking, and report back to the Kaipātiki Local Board.
