Resolution number MO/2018/19 MOVED by Member T Lauese, seconded by Member C Elliott: That the Māngere-Ōtāhuhu Local Board confirm the ordinary minutes of its meeting, held on Wednesday, 21 February 2018, as a true and correct record. |
Deputy Chairperson Togiatolu Walter Togiamua will be away from 25 April to 17 May 2018.
· The passing of Matua Bill Wiki JP QSM based in Otara, strong advocate for wider community, Māori, youth.
· The passing of Jo Fitzpatrick who was a staunch advocate for women’s rights.
· The passing of All Black Dylan Mika who was a local resident.
· Te Kōpū Exhibition - Pō Whakaari
· Exhibition held at the Māngere Art Centre - Falevai Flava which is a collaborative art project created by mother and daughter, Sulieti Fieme’a Burrows and Tui Emma Gillies.
· Girls Only Have A Go Day – 350 girls from schools in Papatoetoe/Ōtara/Ōtahuhu and Māngere were offered a large selection of opportunities to try 14 different sports.
· Tongan Youth Trust Awards event - a number of Tongan young people received awards for their educational, sporting and community involvement from Māngere-Ōtahuhu.
· Thank you to the local board on their leadership regarding the Ōtahuhu boarding house issues and bringing the community together.
· Congratulations to Councillor Josephine Bartley - swearing in ceremony Auckland Town Hall.
· Long Term Plan Have Your Say recent events and updates of information received from Mayor Goff and Councillor’s.
· Māngere Bridge Residents and Ratepayers saying thank you for the work initiated by the Māngere-Ōtahuhu Local Board, Auckland Transport and Police at the Māngere Bridge causeway. Noise issues are getting sorted, and it is noticeable.
· All the schools who participated in the 43rd ASB Polyfest, congratulations to all participants, schools, parents and families and a special mention to Mangere College Cook Island group who came FIRST! And Mangere College overall second placing.

Resolution number MO/2018/22 MOVED by Chairperson L Sosene, seconded by Deputy Chairperson W Togiamua: That the Māngere-Ōtāhuhu Local Board: a) consider an extraordinary item of business relating the appointment of a local board member to the Local Government New Zealand Zone One Committee at agenda item 24.
b) agrees that this item is extraordinary and should be considered before the next meeting of the Māngere-Ōtāhuhu Local Board because this report was submitted for the agenda and unintentionally left off the 21 March 2018 agenda. |

Resolution number MO/2018/27 MOVED by Chairperson L Sosene, seconded by Member C Elliott: That the Māngere-Ōtāhuhu Local Board: a) receives Auckland Transport’s March 2018 update report. b) requests Auckland Transport, as Auckland Council’s agent responsible for managing the Mangere Town Centre carpark and its activities to instruct the Mangere Market Trust to maintain the integrity of the painted pedestrian walkways and to instruct and monitor stallholders to honour these traffic markings. c) asks Auckland Transport (as there is no current lease over the Mangere Market Trust) to instruct the Mangere Market Trust to implement this request forthwith. d) request Auckland Transport to provide a report on the status of the Toia carpark adjacent to the Fresh Choice Supermarket as well as ongoing security, rubbish and all day parking issues in that area. |

Resolution number MO/2018/31 MOVED by Chairperson L Sosene, seconded by Member C O'Brien: That the Māngere-Ōtāhuhu Local Board: a) nominates Member Carrol Elliott to attend the Local Government New Zealand 2018 Conference and Annual General Meeting from Sunday 15 July 2018 to Tuesday 17 July 2018. b) confirms that conference attendance including travel and accommodation will be paid for in accordance with the current Auckland Council Elected Member Expense Policy. c) notes that any members who wish to attend the AGM must provide their names to the Kura Kāwana project team by Friday 13 April 2018 to ensure that they are registered with Local Government New Zealand. |

Appointment of Local Board Member to Local Government New Zealand Zone One Committee

1. To appoint a local board member to the Local Government New Zealand Zone One committee.
Whakarāpopototanga matua / Executive summary
2. Local board members participate as representatives of the local board on a number of external community and national organisations.
3. At the Māngere-Ōtāhuhu Local Board business meeting on 23 November 2016 local board representatives were appointed to a number of external community and business organisations.
4. At that time, no appointment was made to Zone One Committee of Local Government New Zealand Zone One as a separate report was to be prepared.
Ngā tūtohunga / Recommendation/s That the Māngere-Ōtāhuhu Local Board: a) appoint a local board member as the local board’s representative to the Local Government New Zealand Zone One Committee.

5. After the 2016 election Auckland Council appoints elected members from the governing body and each of the local boards to the Local Government New Zealand Zone One (i.e. Auckland and Northland) Committee. Some local boards have yet to appoint their local board representative as the consideration of appointments was delayed while the number of representatives was confirmed.
6. Each local board is asked to appoint a representative to the Zone One Committee. Committee meetings take place four times a year and the venue for meetings is shared across the entire Zone One area.
