b)        congratulate Vector for the proactive investment in responding to Auckland residents following the storm event of 10 April 2018.

MOVED by Chairperson S Stewart, seconded by Deputy Chairperson J Watson:  

That the Civil Defence and Emergency Management Group Committee:

a)      note the approved 10 April Storm Review Project Brief by the Auckland Civil Defence and Emergency Management Coordinating Executive Group (CEG)

b)      agree to participate in the 10 April 2018 Auckland Strom Event Independent review as required and as appropriate

c)      agree to support Vector and Auckland Emergency Management having access to retailer-held customer data for resilience and response use

d)      agree to support the review of the tree regulations by Ministry of Business, Innovation, and Employment in light of the 10 April 2018 storm and the significant impact on power delivery in Auckland due to current tree trimming regulations and advise Vector as appropriate.

Minor Amendments to the CDEM Group Plan (transition and strategic planning for recovery) and Alternate Group Recovery Manager

 

Resolution number CIV/2018/16

MOVED by Chairperson S Stewart, seconded by Deputy Chairperson J Watson:  

That the Civil Defence and Emergency Management Group Committee:

a)      agree that the Mayor, Chair and Deputy Chair of the Civil Defence and Emergency Management Group Committee and other councillors who are members of the Committee be authorised by a resolution of the Committee to issue a Notice of Transition in accordance with the Civil Defence and Emergency Management Act 2002

b)      adopt the minor amendments to the Auckland Civil Defence Emergency Management Group Plan better providing for strategic planning for recovery as set out in in Attachment B of the agenda report

c)      agree to the appointment of Wayne Brown, Principal Recovery Advisor, Auckland Emergency Management as alternate Group Recovery Manager under the Civil Defence Act 2002.
