The Chairperson opened the meeting and welcomed everyone present.

4          Confirmation of Minutes

That the Manukau Harbour Forum:

a)         confirm the ordinary minutes of its meeting, held on Friday, 20 April 2018, as a true and correct record.

6          Acknowledgements

 

 

Secretarial Note:        Councillor Bartley updated the forum on the matters being addressed by the Governing Body including ‘Auckland Council Trade Waste Bylaw 2013: 2018 Review Findings Report’ which was presented to Regulatory Committee on 14 June 2018 and asked for forum’s advocacy to governing body on the effects of new development projects around the Harbour eg: Transform Onehunga project.

a)         acknowledge the previous forum chair, Jill Naysmith and thank Cr Bartley for the update.

Jill Naysmith

 

·         acknowledged the leadership and the work that Manukau Harbour Forum is doing.

·         congratulated the forum on the success of flagship site programme and for their decision to continue with the programme.

 

9.2

Edith Tuhimata – Ngati Te Ata

 

·         spoke on the need for more consultation/engagement with mana whenua into various projects across the harbour.

 

9.3

Lucy Tukua – Native by Nature

 

·         addressed the forum on climate change, integrated design processes to enhance mauri of the harbour and treaty settlements.

 

Member Chris Makoare left the meeting at 1.05pm.

Manukau Harbour Forum Flagship site programme evaluation report

That the Manukau Harbour Forum:

a)      receive the Flagship site programme evaluation report

b)      will consider the continuation of the programme with two events in 2018/19 as part of the Forum work programme.

Urgent decision-making process

 

Resolution number MHFJC/2018/18

MOVED by Member A Cole, seconded by Member T Mulholland:  

That the Manukau Harbour Forum:

a)      adopt the urgent decision-making process for matters that require a decision where it is not practical to call the full forum together and meet the requirement of a quorum.

b)      delegate authority to the chair and deputy chair, or any person acting in these roles, to make urgent decisions on behalf of the forum.

c)      agree that the relationship manager, chair and deputy chair (or any person/s acting in these roles) will authorise the urgent decision-making process by signing off an authorisation memo.

d)      note that all urgent decisions will be reported to the next ordinary meeting of the forum.
