1          Apologies

MOVED by Chairperson M Lee, seconded by Deputy Chairperson S Hughes:  

That the Heritage Advisory Panel:

a)         accept the apology from Bill Rayner for absence.

2          Declaration of Interest

 

Sherry Reynolds declared a possible conflict of interest to Item 7.1: Extraordinary Business – Schooner Daring project.

 

 

3          Confirmation of Minutes

 

Resolution number HER/2018/25

MOVED by Chairperson M Lee, seconded by Member L Wilson:  

That the Heritage Advisory Panel:

a)         confirm the ordinary minutes of its meeting, held on Tuesday, 26 June 2018, as a true and correct record.

4          Extraordinary Business

 

Pursuant to Standing Order 2.4.6, the meeting agreed to receive a presentation from Mr Baden Pascoe and Mr John Street regarding the Schooner Daring project at item 7: Consideration of Extraordinary Items for the reason that the matter cannot wait until the next meeting of the Heritage Panel.

 

Note:   The Chairperson accorded precedence to Item 7: Consideration of Extraordinary Item, at this time.

7.1

Schooner Daring project - Baden Pascoe and John Street, Heritage Advocates Presentation

 

Mr Baden Pascoe and Mr John Street presented a powerpoint presentaiton seekng support from the Panel to save the Schooner Daring project. A copy of the presentation has been placed on the official minutes and is available on the Auckland Council website as a minutes attachment.

 

 

 

Resolution number HER/2018/26

MOVED by Chairperson M Lee, seconded by Member L Chan:  

That the Heritage Advisory Panel:

a)            receive the presentation from Mr Baden Pascoe and Mr John Street regarding the Schooner Daring project with thanks

b)            approve the Chair to write to the Minister for Culture and Heritage outlining the importance of the Schooner Daring, requesting that the Minister supports the retrieval, storage and ultimately display of the vessel

c)            request the Chair to copy the letter to the Mayor and recommend that the council supports any intiatives from the Minister.

Homes Land Community (HLC) - Presentation

 

Kathleen Waldock, Programme Manager and David Ison, General Manager Planning and Infrastructure of Homes Land Community (HLC) presented a powerpoint presentation outlining the overview of HLC, approach to masterplanning, incorporating heritage, the challenges and outcomes achieved at Hobsonville. A copy has been placed on the official minutes and is available on the Auckland Council website as a minutes attachment.

MOVED by Member  H Geary, seconded by Member S Hughes:  

That the Heritage Advisory Panel:

a)      receive the presentation, congratulate Kathleen Waldock, Programme Manager Placemaking and David Ison, General Manager Planning and Infrastructure of Homes Land Community (HLC) for their heritage conservation work at Hobsonville and thank them for their attendance.

Heritage Manager's report

 

Resolution number HER/2018/28

MOVED by Member H Geary, seconded by Member G Burgess:  

That the Heritage Advisory Panel:

a)         receive the Heritage Manager’s report

b)        request that the council make the Heritage Schedule in the Unitary Plan website much more legible and accessible to the public.

7          Consideration of Extraordinary Items

 

Note:   Item 7.1: Consideration of Extraordinary Items - Schooner Daring project - Baden Pascoe and John Street, Heritage Advocates Presentation was considered prior to Item 5 - Homes Land Community (HLC) – Presentation.
