MOVED by Chairperson J Meeuwsen, seconded by Mayor S Goudie:  

That the Hauraki Gulf Forum:

a)         accept the apologies from Mr Andrew Baucke, Mr Steve Halley, Cr Richard Hills, Mr Terrence Hohneck, Ms Liane Ngamane and Ms Marty Rogers for absence and from Cr Christine Fletcher and Mr Martin Mariassouce for lateness.

3          Confirmation of Minutes

a)         confirm the ordinary minutes of its meeting, held on Monday, 14 May 2018, as a true and correct record.

Cr W Walker entered the meeting at 1.11pm.

Election of Deputy Chairperson

 

Resolution number HGF/2018/36

MOVED by Mayor S Goudie, seconded by Member J Cleave:  

That the Hauraki Gulf Forum:

a)      elect a deputy chairperson by using the voting system that requires a candidate to receive the most votes in order to be elected.

CARRIED

 

The chairperson conducted the election of the new deputy chairperson. There being only one nomination, Ms Moana Tamaariki-Pohe was declared deputy chairperson for the remainder of the local authority electoral term.

b)      appoint Ms Moana Tamaariki-Pohe as deputy chairperson for the remainder of the local authority electoral term.

Strategic Issues

That the Hauraki Gulf Forum:

a)      receive the report.

b)      adopt the strategic issues.

c)      request the Executive Officer, Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson use the strategic issues document to inform the forward work programme and agenda for the Forum.

Sediment pollution and associated environmental effects at the Long Bay Okura Marine Reserve

 

Mr M Mariassouce entered the meeting at 2.35pm.

That the Hauraki Gulf Forum:

a)      note the report.

b)      recommend that the Auckland Council take every opportunity to ameliorate the           sediment that may be generated by the Long Bay Okura development.

c)      request that Auckland Council report to the Forum at the next meeting.

Executive Officer Report

 

A report from the International Fund for Animal Welfare on ship speed monitoring in the Hauraki Gulf, April-June 2018 was tabled at the meeting. A copy has been placed on the official minutes and is available on the Auckland Council website as a minutes attachment.

 

 

Resolution number HGF/2018/43

MOVED by Cr C Fletcher, seconded by Mayor J Tregidga:  

That the Hauraki Gulf Forum:

a)      receive the Hauraki Gulf Forum Interim Executive Officer’s report.

b)      advise Forum members when the first meeting to scope the theme of the 2019 Hauraki Gulf Marine Park poster will be held.

c)      delegate approval of the Hauraki Gulf Forum’s submission to the Environmental Protection Authority concerning the Coastal Resources Management Ltd. consent application, to the chairperson and deputy chairperson, on the proviso that the Forum is invited to participate in this submission process.

d)      note the 2017-2018 year-end financial position.

e)      agree to increase the 2018-2019 Forum budget by $5,000 to provide a small budget for chairperson and executive officer related expenses (predominantly travel) funded in accordance with the Forum’s previously agreed funding formula.

f)       agree to reduce the 2018-2019 Auckland Council contribution by $21,914 and allocate $21,914 from the accumulated surplus to the 2018-2019 budget.

g)      note that invoices for the 2018-2019 constituent party contributions will now be issued.

h)      delegate the chairperson and deputy chairperson to recruit an executive officer for the Hauraki Gulf Forum with the support of Auckland Council.

Hauraki Gulf Forum Administering Authority Agreement

a)      receive the Hauraki Gulf Forum Administering Authority Agreement report.

b)      adopt the Service Level Agreement between the Hauraki Gulf Forum and Auckland Council as the Administering Authority.
