Chairperson IM Fordham declared an interest in respect of the Great Barrier Island Sports and Social Club Incorporated’s capital and local (rates cost, 2018 Santa Parade and Guy Fawkes display) applications at item 12 – Great Barrier Local Board Capital and Local Grants Round One 2018/2019 grant applications report.

Board Member S Johnson declared an interest in respect to the Aotea Education Ltd accountability report at item 13b).

That the Aotea Great Barrier Local Board:

a)      receive the Aotea Great Barrier Island Connectivity Study (Attachment A of the agenda report).

b)      agree to progress the project to the next phase – an expression of interest to the Provincial Growth Fund for $50,000 for a feasibility study into solutions to Aotea Great Barrier Island’s connectivity issues.

Submission to Environmental Protection Agency opposing the dumping consent application by Coastal Resources Limited

That the Aotea Great Barrier Local Board:

a)      approve the submission (Attachment A of the agenda report) made on 10 September 2018 by the Aotea Great Barrier Local Board to the Environmental Protection Authority to a marine dumping consent application made by Coastal Resources Ltd under the the Exclusive Economic Zone and Continental Shelf (Environmental Effects) Act 2012.

b)      authorise the chairperson to take the required measures to pursue the local board’s objection to the marine dumping consent made by Coastal Resources Ltd, subject to obtaining the views of the local board members.
