Members are reminded of the need to be vigilant to stand aside from decision making when a conflict arises between their role as a member and any private or other external interest they might have.
There were no declarations of interest.

a) noted the update on the community forum.

Note: panel members discussed the following aspects of the community forum
· Choosing a date, venue; potentially paying for attendees’ parking
· The purpose and theme of community forum – Idea is to seek feedback from the community. One original suggestion was an AGM-type event in December, which focuses on achievements of this panel’s term so far. The planning documents and ideas have been circuated in between meetings.
· Suggestions for speakers could be Flora (previous Youth Advisory Panel chair). Youth councils from across Auckland could be invited.
· A theme could be rangatahi / I Am Auckland. This is likely to also come to a future Youth Advisory Panel meeting.
· Youth Awards – could the forum tie in with summer public music events?
· Panel agreed that action items with deadlines would be useful. Suggestion to incorporate discussion and new ideas from the meeting, and work up the new plan keeping in mind the budget which ends 30 June 2019, with a new budget available from 1 July 2019.
· Members agreed to discuss and finalise the plans at the November meeting. All panel members agreed to share their views in between meetings with the community forum working group.
The panel invited members of the public Zachary Wong and Irra Lee to the table for a brief discussion on hosting community forum events.

Note:
· The panel decided to meet on the second Monday of each month, between February and September 2019. Once university timetables are released, this date may be revisited early next year.
· The start time was agreed to be 5.00pm for dinner, with meetings starting at 5.30pm.
· The panel decided to have three open to the public meetings in April, June, and August.

There was no consideration of additional items.
