Chairperson Greg Presland opened the meeting and welcomed those present.
Members were reminded of the need to be vigilant to stand aside from decision making when a conflict arises between their role as a member and any private or other external interest they might have.
Specifically members are asked to identify any new interests they have not previously disclosed, an interest that might be considered as a conflict of interest with a matter on the agenda.

The presentation will summarise new partnerships, audience survey results, new initiatives and outline opportunities for Going West 2019. |

Trial of online voting at the 2019 local elections |

Resolution number WTK/2018/157 MOVED by Chairperson G Presland, seconded by Member S Coney: That the Waitākere Ranges Local Board: a) opposes the Waitakere Ranges local board area being involved in the online voting trial for the following reasons: i) the local board has significant concerns about the security of any proposed system, ii) the local board has significant concerns about potential cost, iii) the significant reputational damage to the democratic system that would occur should issues arise with online voting. |

Feedback on proposed topics for inclusion in the Auckland Water Strategy |

Resolution number WTK/2018/161 MOVED by Member S Tollestrup, seconded by Deputy Chairperson S Toms: That the Waitākere Ranges Local Board: a) support the three waters approach, and believes that access to water is a human right and that any entity controlling water should be in full public ownership and democratically accountable. a) endorse the proposed topics for inclusion in the Auckland Water Strategy for discussion purposes as outlined in Attachment A, with the additional feedback that some receiving bodies may be fed by multiple catchments so it is important that ‘catchments’ be considered at a clearly identifiable and appropriate scale. Manukau Harbour is an example of this. b) additionally emphasises the specific needs and perspective of the Manukau Harbour and of the Waitākere Ranges Heritage Area within the wider regional framework. |

Resolution number WTK/2018/162 MOVED by Chairperson G Presland, seconded by Member S Coney: That the Waitākere Ranges Local Board: a) support the proposal to increase developer contributions to provide resources required to address the effects of growth.
b) note that Glen Eden and Swanson are facing the affects of significant growth and should also receive growth related infrastructure.
c) staff are requested to ensure that supporting planning is done to inform the next Long-term Plan to enable listing of specific growth projects for development contributions particularly community infrastructure and open space needs.
d) seek an adjustment to the policy so that developer contributions can be in the form of the provision of suitable and agreed land for open space purposes.
e) request that a Have Your Say Event occurs in the West. |
