Chair Angela Dalton declared an interest in item 14 “Reallocation of Manurewa Locally Driven Initiatives funding for Community Empowerment initiatives in the 2018/2019 work programme” and will hand the meeting to the deputy chair and leave the room, at this point in the agenda.

b)      refer the presenters’ request for local board support in their campaign for Hill Park, Manurewa, to be registered officially as a suburb, to the Auckland Council Chief Executive for further advice.

i)       Councillor Daniel Newman, regarding:

·         Public Transport fare increases by Auckland Transport

·         Auckland Council’s response to the Trimdon Street illegal dumping issue.

i)          Movies in the Park – Moana, which will also be playing local music.

ii)         Totara Park Master Plan delivery

iii)       Weymouth Fun Run.

Chairperson's Update

 

Resolution number MR/2019/8

MOVED by Chairperson A Dalton, seconded by Deputy Chairperson S Cattle:  

That the Manurewa Local Board:

A)      receive the verbal report from the Manurewa Local Board Chairperson, regarding:

i)          welcoming the local board back for 2019

ii)         the ongoing issue of litter and illegal dumping, including at Trimdon Street, along with the lack of mowing in some areas. The Chair requested members continue to log issues to ensure prompt action

iii)       Housing for Older People and the need for local board members to maintain ongoing relationships with the residents

iv)       the need to review the council’s internal process improvements to find more financial savings.

Reallocation of Manurewa Locally Driven Initiatives funding for Community Empowerment initiatives in the 2018/2019 work programme

 

Resolution number MR/2019/9

MOVED by Member K Penney, seconded by Member DP Pizzini:  

That the Manurewa Local Board:

a)         approve the reallocation of funds totalling $33,000 from the following 2018/2019 work programme lines, to 1036 Localised Placemaking:

i)          $13,000 from 1037 Manurewa Lifelong Learning and Seniors Network

ii)         $20,000 from 1041 Build Capacity.

b)        approve a grant of $33,000 to Clendon Residents Group for the Clendon Pride Project from work programme item 1036 Localised Placemaking.

c)         note that further funds will be available in the current financial year, to reallocate to community grants, including a further $6,000 to Clendon Residents Group.

Jellicoe Park Tennis Club

MOVED by Member J Allan, seconded by Member DP Pizzini:  

That the Manurewa Local Board:

a)         approve up to $25,000 from financial year 2018/2019 locally driven initiatives (LDI) capital funding budget to complete a project scope for the proposed redevelopment of tennis facilities at Jellicoe Park, Manurewa.

b)        request that staff reduce the scope for the proposed redevelopment of tennis facilities at Jellicoe Park, Manurewa by excluding:

i)          paragraph 16, first bullet point of the report titled “Jellicoe Park Tennis Club” which states “a service need assessment for both tennis provision in Manurewa and broader open space needs within the user catchment of Jellicoe Park to identify the need for and any opportunity cost of expansion of tennis provision in Jellicoe Park”; noting that this work would need to be undertaken using locally driven initiatives (LDI) operational funding budget.

Manurewa Local Board Achievements Register 2016-2019 Political Term

That the Manurewa Local Board:

a)      approve the following additions to the Manurewa Local Board Achievements Register for the 2016 - 2019 political term:

i)          attended the Netball Manurewa Christmas luncheon

ii)         attended the Wiri BID monthly meeting

iii)        attended the Wattle Downs Residents and Ratepayers annual Christmas function

iv)        attended the opening of the Butler’s Pantry café at Nathan Homestead

v)         contributed to and spoke at the Jazz at Nathan Homestead event.
