a)         confirm the ordinary minutes of its meeting, held on Tuesday, 23 October 2018, as a true and correct record.

Heritage Evaluations

 

Sue Cooper from Remuera Heritage spoke to this item.

MOVED by Chairperson M Lee, seconded by Member  Geary:  

That the Heritage Advisory Panel:

a)        receive the presentation from Sue Cooper of Remuera Heritage, thank her for her attendance and congratulate Remuera Heritage on the work they have undertaken in regard to protecting local heritage

b)        request staff to report back on how to make this process, pioneered by Remuera Heritage, Ōrākei local board and the council heritage team, available region-wide.

Heritage Counts

 

Dr David Bade - Specialist Built Heritage, was present for this item and provided a PowerPoint presentation and a handout.

Copies have been placed on the official minutes and is available on the Auckland Council website as minutes attachments.

That the Heritage Advisory Panel:

a)      receive the report and thank Dr David Bade for the excellent first edition of Auckland’s Heritage Counts 2018 Annual Summary.

MOVED by Member J Burns, seconded by Member C Page:  

That the Heritage Advisory Panel:

a)         receive the report

b)        express its serious concern about the precedent set by this case and ask the Manager Heritage to raise this issue with the appropriate department (Consents and Compliance) within council and report back to the panel at its 30 April 2019 meeting.

Heritage Managers Report

That the Heritage Advisory Panel:

a)         receive the Heritage Manager’s report

b)        request that the Chair of the Heritage Advisory Panel write to the Chair of Auckland Transport expressing formal support by the panel for the retention of the long-standing right to occupy, by the former Remuera Railway Station Preservation Trust.
