Resolution number PPK/2019/10 MOVED by Chairperson B Catchpole, seconded by Member G Hawkins: That the Papakura Local Board: a) receive the verbal report from the Papakura Local Board Chairperson on the following topics: · This month has not been without its challenges specifically in relation to our capital projects. What is good is that we’re getting a better idea of the project detail, costs, and likely timeframes for delivery for these multi-year projects. What’s not so good is that these projects will likely be delivered in the next political term. · The solar panels at Massey Park Pool have been installed and are fully operational. We look forward to the cost saving benefits and the ability to extend the use of the outdoor pool later in the season. We anticipate that the outdoor pool will be open until the end of April this season. · Papakura Park and Ride – Auckland Transport have presented the single business case for the Park and Ride and bus metro interchange. Unfortunately, a 300 space multi-level park and ride is too expensive given the geotechnical constraints of the site. There now will be 120 additional at grade carparks for the train station, with the bus metro on Railway Street. · Speed Limit Bylaw – Consultation commences tomorrow 28th February and remains open for consultation until 31st March 2019. A list of the street affected, mostly around the Rosehill in the Papakura Local Board area, is available on the Auckland Transport website. (https://at.govt.nz/speed). · Papakura High School – The inaugural Hotaka Piri Kura (Level 3 Police Preparation Couse) commenced this month at Papakura High School. An official public launch of the program will be held at the school on Wednesday 20th March 2019. Congratulations to the school and students joining this exciting opportunity towards a career in the Police. |
