That the Maungakiekie-Tāmaki Local Board:

a)           acknowledge everyone that has been affected by the events that took place in Christchurch on Friday 15 March 2019 and the support to the Muslim community. The board would also like to acknowledge all the law enforcement staff of New Zealand police for their service during this time.

Allocation of funding to Citizens Advice Bureaux

That the Maungakiekie-Tāmaki Local Board:

a)      endorse the new model for allocating funding to Citizens Advice Bureaux (based on 90 per cent population and 10 per cent deprivation) and on increasing the baseline grant to Auckland Citizens Advice Bureaux Incorporated by $200,000 in 2019-2021 (refer to Attachment A to the agenda report).

Reallocation of Maungakiekie-Tāmaki Local Board's 2018/2019 locally driven initiative operating expenditure

a)      approve to reallocate the following 2018/2019 locally driven initiative operating expenditure budget to the activity, Waikaraka Park reserve management plan:

2019 Local Government New Zealand Conference and Annual General Meeting

That the Maungakiekie-Tāmaki Local Board:

a)      nominate Deputy Chair D Burrows to attend the Local Government New Zealand 2019 Conference and Annual General Meeting in Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington, from Sunday 7 July to Tuesday 9 July 2019.

b)      confirm that conference attendance, including travel and accommodation, will be paid for in accordance with the current Auckland Council Elected Member Expense Policy.

c)      note that any members who wish to attend the AGM must provide their names to the Kura Kāwana programme team by Friday 12 April 2019 to ensure that they are registered with Local Government New Zealand.

Auckland Council Policy on Dogs and Dog Management Bylaw Statement of Proposal resolution from Governing Body

 

Resolution number MT/2019/29

MOVED by Chairperson C Makoare, seconded by Member B Diver:  

That the Maungakiekie-Tāmaki Local Board:

a)      receive the 28 February 2019 Governing Body resolution on the Auckland Council Policy on Dogs and Dog Management Bylaw Statement of Proposal.

b)      delegate to the Chair and Deputy Chair to provide views on the Auckland Council Policy on Dogs and Dog Management Bylaw Statement of Proposal to the Hearings Panel on 3 May 2019.

c)      note the concern that the local board is being asked to provide feedback without the benefit of understanding its communities views on the proposal.

d)      notes that the local board has a responsibility under section 16b of the Local Government Auckland Council Act to identify and communicate the interests and preferences of its community.
