Waitākere Ranges Local Board

Chairperson Greg Presland opened the meeting and welcomed those present.

There were no apologies.

Members were reminded of the need to be vigilant to stand aside from decision making when a conflict arises between their role as a member and any private or other external interest they might have.

Specifically members are asked to identify any new interests they have not previously disclosed, an interest that might be considered as a conflict of interest with a matter on the agenda.

a) thank Neil Hilton for his presentation regarding the removal of caravans from Piha camping ground and receive the presentation.

b) thank Grant Palmer for his presentation regarding removal of caravans from Piha camping grounds and receive the presentation.

c) thank Lisa Prager, member of the Guardians of Te Wai Orea, for her presentation regarding Watercare’s plans to fell kauri trees in Woodlands Park Road and receive the presentation.

d) thank Margaret Walters, Ann Walters and Stanly Edward for their presentation regarding the Routley Drive health and safety issue and receive the presentation.

e) thank Cyril Hamiaux for his presentation regarding the Huia Water Treatment Plant article in the Fringe and receive the presentation.

11	The Future of the Glen Eden Safety Hub
	Claire Liousse, Strategic Broker, Michael Alofa, Specialist Advisor and Natalie Hansby, Practice Manager - Operations were in attendance to speak to this item.
	Resolution number WTK/2019/19 MOVED by Deputy Chairperson S Toms, seconded by Member S Coney: That the Waitākere Ranges Local Board: a) endorse Option 1 b) approve the renewal of the lease of the commercial space at 2 Glenmall Place, for a further period of two years commencing May 2019. c) approve the allocation of $21,000 from 2018/2019 work programme line 1015 for the lease and operational outgoings up to June 2019. d) approve the allocation of $4,000 for refreshed branding and signage for the commercial space from the 2018/2019 Community Response Fund. e) thank officers Claire Liousse, Michael Alofa and Natalie Hansby for their attendance. CARRIED
	Note: Under Standing Orders 1.9.7 Member K Turner requested that his dissenting vote be recorded.

2019 Local Government New Zealand Conference and Annual General Meeting

Resolution number WTK/2019/22

MOVED by Member N Henderson, seconded by Member S Coney:

That the Waitākere Ranges Local Board:

a) nominate member Steve Tollestrup to attend the Local Government New Zealand 2019 Conference and Annual General Meeting in Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington, from Sunday 7 July to Tuesday 9 July 2019.

b) confirm that conference attendance, including travel and accommodation, will be paid for in accordance with the current Auckland Council Elected Member Expense Policy.

c) note that any members who wish to attend the AGM must provide their names to the Kura Kāwana programme team by Friday 12 April 2019 to ensure that they are registered with Local Government New Zealand.

c) thank officer Raewyn Curran for her attendance.
