At 9.40am a quorum had not been achieved. The Chairperson announced that the meeting would proceed in an informal capacity until a quorum was reached.
The Chairperson welcomed everyone and introduced Mary Schnackenberg, Chairperson of the Disability Advisory Panel.

Mary Schnackenberg, Chairperson of the Disability Advisory Panel introduced: · Tricia Austin, Senior Lecturer at Auckland University. A PowerPoint presentation was provided. A copy of the presentation has been placed on the official minutes and is available on the Auckland Council website as a minutes attachment. · Paula Tesoriero, Disability Rights Commissioner who gave a verbal presentation. · Dan Buckingham, Deputy Chairperson of the Disability Advisory Panel, who gave a verbal presentation. At 9.57am a quorum was reached and the meeting was formally opened. Cr W Walker retired from the meeting at 10.12am. |

Resolution number COM/2019/21 MOVED by Cr J Bartley, seconded by Cr G Sayers: That the Community Development and Safety Committee: a) thank the Disability Advisory Panel and presenters for their work in putting together this session and assisting the committee in understanding accessible housing in Auckland. |

Cr Bartley tabled a briefing paper relating to Universal Design in Housing regarding the meeting of 18 April 2019 between councillors and ministers. Copies have been placed on the official minutes and are available on the Auckland Council website as minutes attachments. |
