Chairperson IM Fordham opened the meeting and welcomed everyone present. Member J Cleave led the meeting with a karakia.

Reclassifying Crossroads Recreation Reserve to a Local Purpose (Cemetery) Reserve

That the Great Barrier Local Board:

a)      approves the reclassification of Allotment 211 Parish of Aotea known as Crossroads Reserve from a recreation reserve to a local purpose (cemetery) reserve pursuant to Section 24(1) of the Reserves Act 1977.

Aotea Great Barrier Island Heritage Survey

That the Great Barrier Local Board:

a)      receive the final Aotea Great Barrier Island Heritage Survey (Attachment A of the agenda report).

b)      approve allocation of the remaining $8000 in the locally driven initiatives (LDI) heritage budget line to be spent on a historic heritage evaluation of Ox Park.

Auckland Council’s Quarterly Performance Report: Great Barrier Local Board for quarter three 2018/2019

 

Jacqui Fyers – Senior Local Board Advisor Great Barrier was in attendance to speak to the report.

MOVED by Chairperson I Fordham, seconded by Member S Daly:  

That the Great Barrier Local Board:

a)      receive the performance report for the financial quarter ending 31 March 2019

b)      agree to cancel the Windy Canyon lookout: stage one design, consult and consent initiative due to higher than expected project cost estimate. It is noted that the expenditure to date will be funded from the 2018/19 Local Driven Initiatives operational budget and the Local Improvement Projects capital budget will be refunded $20,000.

c)      approve $3000 from the community response fund budget line to the Accessway and linkages budget line for extra work completed by the contractor on the project.

Remuneration Authority - policy on child care allowances

a)         endorse the draft submission on the Remuneration Authority’s proposed policy on childcare allowances noting the need to broaden the scope for Great Barrier Island as there is no existing registered child care provider nor child care facilities on the island.
