Chairperson Saffron Toms opened the meeting and welcomed those present.

The Forum acknowledges the passing of Councillor Josephine Bartley’s mother, Ruth Violet Kolopa Bartley, and sends it condolences to her family and close friends at this difficult time.

David Holm - Puketāpapa Local Board is monitoring three beaches (Lynfield, Waikowhai and Wattle Bays) with a goal to be included in the SafeSwim programme. Bill McEntee (Papakura Local Board) Attended PIPS Pahurepure Inlet Protection Society meeting where concerns were expressed about the proposed walkway. Dawn Trenberth (Otara-Papatoetoe Local Board) Approved over $200k for environmental projects, a number of which positively impact the Manukau: litter, planting, household and small appliance waste disposal. Saffron Toms (Waitākere Ranges Local Board) Acknowledge that Auckland Council have declared a climate emergency and look forward to seeing work programme responses. Waitākere Ranges have supported sea bird investigation i.e. Petrels survey in Piha, up north towards Muriwai and Cornwallis. |
