a)         accept the apology from Makalita Kolo for absence.

4          Confirmation of Minutes

 

Resolution number MO/2019/72

MOVED by Chairperson L Sosene, seconded by Member C O'Brien:  

That the Māngere-Ōtāhuhu Local Board:

a)         confirm the minutes of its ordinary meeting, held on Wednesday, 15 May 2019, as  true and correct.

5          Leave of Absence

6          Acknowledgements

 

·         Congratulations to the Northern Stars who got to the finals in the National Netball Competition.

·         Manukau East Youth MP, Shaneel Lal, an Otahuhu resident, who has been selected to represent New Zealand at the 2019 Open Government Partnership Global Summit in Canada. He is one of only 25 Youth Delegates, selected from over 3000 applications.

·          Pacific Mamas have an art work which is currententlyon show at the Auckland Town Hall.

·         Samoan Language Week – acknowledge organisers of the celebrations in the Mangere Town Centre and in the Mangere-Otahuhu Libraries; as well as the schools who took part in the annual Samoan Language Debate – McAuley HS, De La Salle College and Aorere College, with De La Salle in particular being named 2019 winner.

·         Samoan Government 57th Celebration on 1 June 2019.

·         The Board sends condolences to the Tupou Family of Māngere on the death of their young man, Sam, at Ōtāhuhu.

Adoption of the Māngere-Ōtāhuhu Local Board Agreement 2019/2020

 

Attachment A to the Annual Budget 2019/2020 was tabled at the meeting. A copy has been placed on the official minutes and is available on the Auckland Council website as a minutes attachment.

 

Resolution number MO/2019/73

MOVED by Chairperson L Sosene, seconded by Deputy Chairperson W Togiamua:  

That the Māngere-Ōtāhuhu Local Board:

a)      adopts local content for the Annual Budget 2019/2020 (Attachment A), including:

i)          a Local Board Agreement 2019/2020.

ii)         a message from the Chair.

iii)        local board advocacy.

b)      adopts local fees and charges schedules for 2019/2020 (Attachment B).

c)      delegates authority to the Chair to make any final minor changes to the local content for the Annual Budget 2019/2020, including the Local Board Agreement 2019/2020.

d)      notes:

i)       that Local Board Agreement 2019/2020 local activity budgets will be updated to reflect final budget decisions made by the Governing Body on 22 May 2019.

ii)      that if there are outstanding (not yet agreed) matters in the Local Board Agreement 2019/2020, the local board could include an explanation of these matters in the Chair’s message at the front of the agreement.

e)      resolutions of this meeting will be reported back to the Governing Body when it meets to adopt the Annual Budget 2019/2020 on 20 June 2019.

f)       requests that future Māori impact statements of the Mangere-Otahuhu local board’s local board agreements cover reports reflect the local board’s strategic and working relationships with Mana Whenua, Matawaaka and local Māori.
