That the Manurewa Local Board: express its condolences to the Dilley family on the passing of Peter Dilley on 27 May 2019. Peter was a true gentleman and well respected member of the community.
Peter served in the Royal British Navy and was a Korean War veteran. He worked for the British Overseas Airways Corporation prior to moving to New Zealand in 1967.
Peter was incredibly proud of his background and was an honest caring family man with a strong sense of community spirit.
Street signs across the Manurewa Local Board area have had poppies added to them to pay tribute to New Zealand’s military history. It was Peter who initially suggested the project to the board. His intent was for the signs to be a constant reminder of the sacrifices made through war in the hope that future generations would learn from it. |
There were no petitions.
There were no deputations.
There was no public forum.
There was no extraordinary business.
