Chairperson T Mulholland opened the meeting and welcomed those present.

That the Whau Local Board:

a)         accept the apologies from Members Zhu and Matafai for lateness.

3          Declaration of Interest

 

Members are reminded of the need to be vigilant to stand aside from decision making when a conflict arises between their role as a member and any private or other external interest they might have.

Janine Johnson and Katherine Smith were in attendance to discuss the proposed rollout of the 5G network.

That the Whau Local Board:

a)         receive the presentation on the rollout of 5G wireless and thank Janine Johnson and Katherine Smith, on behalf of Concerned Citizens for 5G Free West Auckland, for their attendance.

b)        will seek further information from central government on this matter.

Whau Local Board Member vacancy

That the Whau Local Board:

a)      resolve to not fill the vacancy created on the Whau Local Board by Member Macdonald’s resignation from the board on 9 July 2019, pursuant to section 117 (3) of the Local Electoral Act.

Auckland Transport Update Report for Whau Local Board – July 2019

a)      receive Auckland Transport’s update for July 2019.

Allocation of Whau Local Board - Auckland Transport Community Safety Fund

 

Owena Schuster was in attendance to speak to this report.

 

Resolution number WH/2019/96

MOVED by Member D Battersby, seconded by Chairperson T Mulholland:  

That the Whau Local Board:

a)      endorse the following projects in priority order to utilise the Auckland Transport Community Safety Fund allocated to the Whau Local Board area:

i)       Blockhouse Bay Roundabout Safety Upgrade

ii)      Veronica Street pedestrian crossing

b)      allocate sufficient budget from the upcoming 2020-23 Local Board Transport Capital Fund to top up the Community Safety Fund and allow both the above projects to be completed.

Te Tohu o Te Auaunga (Oakley Creek) Implementation Strategy - Whau
