1 Mihi Whakatua (Welcome)

Ringi Brown (Kaumatua) Ngati Manuhiri, led the prayer and gave a mihi. Mook Hohneck, Chief Executive, Ngati Manuhiri also addressed the meeting. Hau Rawiri acknowledged the welcome on behalf of Auckland Council.

5	Election of Chairperson
	Resolution number RD/2019/133 MOVED by Member B Houlbrooke, seconded by Member D Hancock: That the Rodney Local Board: a) elect a chairperson for the 2019 - 2022 political term, utilising System B of Schedule 7, Part 1, Clause 25 of the Local Government Act 2002. CARRIED
	The Relationship Manager called for nominations for the position of chairperson.
	Resolution number RD/2019/134 NOMINATED by Member B Houlbrooke, seconded by Member B Bailey: That the Rodney Local Board: a) elect Member P Pirrie as chairperson of the Rodney Local Board for the 2019-2022 political term. CARRIED

6	Declaration by Chairperson
	A copy of the chairperson’s signed declaration is publicly available on the Auckland Council website as a minutes attachment.
	The chairperson, Phelan Pirrie made his declaration pursuant to Schedule 7, clause 14 of the Local Government Act 2002 and assumed the Chair.

7	Address by Chairperson
	Chairperson P Pirrie addressed the meeting.

8	Election of Deputy Chairperson
	Resolution number RD/2019/135 MOVED by Member L Johnston, seconded by Member B Bailey: That the Rodney Local Board: a) elect a deputy chairperson for the 2019 - 2022 political term, utilising System B of Schedule 7, Part 1, Clause 25 of the Local Government Act 2002. CARRIED
	The Chairperson called for nominations for the position of deputy chairperson.
	NOMINATED by Member B Bailey, seconded by Member L Johnston: That the Rodney Local Board: a) elect Member B Houlbrook as Deputy Chairperson of the Rodney Local Board for the 2019-2022 political term.
	NOMIINATED by Member C Smith, seconded by Member T Holdgate: That the Rodney Local Board: a) elect Member S Garner as Deputy Chairperson of the Rodney Local Board for the 2019-2022 political term.
	The motion was put to a round table verbal vote in the following order: · Member B Bailey voted in favour of Member B Houlbrooke · Member S Garner voted in favour of Member S Garner · Member D Hancock voted in favour of Member B Houlbrooke · Member T Holdgate voted in favour of Member S Garner · Member B Houlbrooke voted in favour of Member B Houlbrooke · Member L Johnston voted in favour of Member B Houlbrooke · Member V Kenny voted in favour of Member B Houlbrooke · Chairperson P Pirrie voted in favour of Member B Houlbrooke · Member C Smith voted in favour of Member S Garner The chairperson declared Member B Houlbrooke elected as Deputy Chairperson, six votes to three.

	The Mayor was not in attendance.

Resolution number RD/2019/138

MOVED by Member B Bailey, seconded by Member Kenny:

That the Rodney Local Board:

a) agree to hold an extraordinary meeting on Wednesday, 20 November 2019, 3.00pm at the Council Chamber, 50 Centreway Road, Orewa due to not being able to meet the public notification requirement as per the Local Government Official Information Meetings Act 1987 s 46(1) & (2)

b) confirm its December business meeting for Wednesday, 11 December 2019, 3.00pm at the Warkworth Town Hall, 21 Neville Street, Warkworth.
