Auckland Transport February 2020 report to
the Manurewa Local Board

Penney:
That
the Manurewa Local Board:
a) receive
the Auckland Transport February 2020 update report.
b)
request that Auckland
Transport meet with Shiu Goundar and investigate his concerns about road
safety at Hill Park School.
c)
note that resolution
MR/2019/193 referred in paragraph 16 of the report relates to general
research or information on safety issues created by trucks parking on public
roads and measures to address them.
d)
request Auckland Transport to
provide further information relating to resolution MR/2019/193.
e)
note that the response by
Auckland Transport to resolution MR/2019/145 referred to in paragraph 15 d)
is out of date and request to install signage has now been progressed by
Auckland Transport.
f)
request that Auckland
Transport investigate the feasibility of no stopping and any other options to
improve safety and traffic movement at the Botanic Gardens entrance.
g)
provide the board with a
written update on the progress of the suite of improvements for the area on
Hill Road from Charles Prevost to Grand Vue Road.

Barrowcliffe Bridge and Place Enhancement

That
the Manurewa Local Board:
a) endorse
the detailed design for the Barrowcliffe Bridge and Place streetscape upgrade
in Manukau, as provided in Attachment A, noting that the detailed design will
be subject to consent conditions.
b) endorse
the Barrowcliffe Bridge and Place streetscape upgrade in Manukau progressing
to the construction phase.
c)
note the board’s
previous feedback regarding the importance of throw screens being installed
as part of the Barrowcliffe Bridge and Place streetscape upgrade for public
safety.
d)
request that Panuku maintain a
strong relationship with the New Zealand Transport Agency to progress the installation
of throw screens on Barrowcliffe Bridge as soon as possible.

Appointment of LGNZ Lead and nominee for
LGNZ Conference 2020

That
the Manurewa Local Board:
a) appoint Tabetha Gorrie and Glenn Murphy, as an
alternate, for LGNZ related matters for the 2019-2022 triennium and task
these members with representing the local board at Auckland/LGNZ meetings.
b) nominate Tabetha Gorrie to attend the Local
Government New Zealand 2020 Conference and Annual General Meeting in Waiharakeke
Blenheim, Thursday 16 July to Saturday 18 July 2020.
c) confirm that conference attendance including
travel and accommodation will be paid for in accordance with the current
Auckland Council Elected Member Expense Policy.
d) note that any members who wish to attend the
AGM must provide their names to the Democracy Services Business Hub team by Friday 17 April
2020 to ensure that they are registered with Local
Government New Zealand.
