MOVED by Member K Penney, seconded by Member T Gorrie:
That
the Manurewa Local Board:
a) supports
the Panuku Development Auckland
and Auckland Transport Park and Ride
Integrated Development strategy
b) endorses the following properties being utilised as part of an integrated transport orientated development:
i) Manurewa
Station Park and Ride located at 33 Station Road, Manurewa
ii) Selwyn Road car park located 8 Selwyn Road,
Manurewa
iii) Homai Station Park and Ride located at 2R
Dalgety Drive, Manukau
c) notes that specified current and future
transport operations at the Manurewa Station Park and Ride, the Selwyn Road Park
and Ride and the Homai Station Park and Ride will remain in council ownership
and continue to be maintained and controlled by Auckland Transport
d)
expects to play an
active role in the implementation of this strategy in Manurewa through
influencing the type, design and scale of development on each site
e)
requests that any
integrated transport development undertaken in Manurewa as part of this
strategy:
i)
reflects a high
quality of urban design, including incorporation of Māori
design, universal access and sustainable design
ii)
provides or
maintains green spaces
iii)
is compatible with
Auckland’s Urban Ngahere Strategy and any Urban Ngahere strategy or
programme adopted by the board
f)
requests further
engagement from staff with the board and key stakeholders, including Manurewa
and Wiri business associations, mana whenua and the Manurewa Town Centre Steering Group, when development
options for the site are known and prior to a decision on the preferred
option.
g)
expects the current
number of free park and ride carparks at the sites subject to this report be
maintained in any development.
