Members discussed the items and updated were received as follows:
i) Waiheke Transport Design Guide – Jose Rodriguez Araya and introducing Design Consultant Lisa Mein (Attachment A of the agenda report). The structure of the document was discussed. ii) Waiheke boating letter – pump out facilities Matiatia and Kennedy Point (Attachment C of the agenda report). Richard La Ville updated the meeting. iii) Donald Bruce Rd – Te Huruhi Primary School pedestrian crossing (Attachments D and E of the agenda report) iv) keyhole changes – mobility parks and bus weight limitations (Attachment F of the agenda report). Richard La Ville updated the meeting. v) off-peak travel concessions on buses are not available on Waiheke – Member McKenzie sought clarification on what options are available across AT network and to check are they being offered in Waiheke. - Staff will follow up. vi) cycle lane maintenance - What is the frequency of cleaning/maintenance and is there a better way to do this? Members noted they had also experienced these issues. Member Howard sought clarification on what annual maintenance schedule is as appears are in some cases overgrown in parts and is gravel build up. - Staff will follow up. vii) cycle lanes roadworks - cycle lanes appear to not be considered during road works. re: recent reselling of Ostend Road between Erua and O’Brien Roads. What are the requirements? Member Howard sought clarification, as cyclist experienced that recent traffic management didn’t take into account impacts on cycle lanes and was required to share road with cars. Other members noted they had also experienced these issues. Staff will follow up with what requirements are. viii) Matiatia old wharf temporary changes while main wharf maintenance is completed. Member Crawford said that this has been discussed earlier. ix) Terms of Reference – mid-term review (Attachment B of the agenda report). This item will be carried over to the next meeting of the Waiheke Transport Forum. x) An acknowledgement was made to Auckland Transport and Downers for the lift in quality of materials, for working extended hours and weekends to make most of season. xi) Richard La Ville advised the ferries in the city will be out of Pier 2 from Saturday 6 March morning (back where was). |
