The Co-Chairs welcomed all and invited Pastor Eroni Rabo Dau to open the meeting with a karakia. Co-Chair Manu Sione acknowledged the attendance of elected members from the Governing Body and Local Boards and invited panel members to introduce themselves to members of the public.

Election of Pacific Peoples Advisory Panel co-chairs for the 2019 - 2022 term

 

The Pacific Peoples Advisory Panel:

a)       noted the election of Hainoame Fulivai and Manu Sione as co-chairs and acknowledged the interim co-chairs for their services.

Endorsing the Pacific Peoples Advisory Panel's strategic work programme

 

The Pacific Peoples Advisory Panel:

a)      endorsed the Pacific Peoples Advisory Panel’s strategic work programme.

Moana Pasifika Staff Network

 

The Pacific Peoples Advisory Panel:

a)       thanked representatives of Moana Pasifika Staff Network for their attendance and the information provided.

Community engagement opportunities for the Pacific Peoples Advisory Panel

 

The Pacific Peoples Advisory Panel:

a)      considered opportunities for community engagement over the remainder of their term and thanked representatives from Tatauranga Aotearoa-Stats NZ for their attendance and the information provided.

Economic Development Action Plan 2021-24

 

A PowerPoint presentation was given in support of the item. A copy has been placed on the official minutes and is available on the Auckland Council website as a minutes attachment.

 

 

The Pacific Peoples Advisory Panel:

a)      received the Economic Development Action Plan 2021-24 report, thanked staff for their attendance and presentation and agreed to form a working group to provide feedback on the draft Economic Development Action Plan 2021-24.

Thriving Communities update

 

A PowerPoint presentation was given in support of the item. A copy has been placed on the official minutes and is available on the Auckland Council website as a minutes attachment.

a)      received the Thriving Communities update, thanked staff for their attendance and presentation and agreed to form a working group to progress this matter.

Auckland climate action plan

 

The Pacific Peoples Advisory Panel:

a)       received the update from Hainoame Fulivai and Ireen Manuel, Co-Chair Climate Change Working Group at Auckland Council on the Auckland climate action plan.

There was no consideration of extraordinary items.
