Resolution number FR/2021/101 MOVED by Deputy Chairperson A Fulljames, seconded by Member M Bell: That the Franklin Local Board: a) acknowledge the life of Robyn Rusher who passed away 21 July 2021. Robyn held various management roles in the public service sector of social development in her work life and the well-being of people and community continued through her life while living in Kawakawa Bay.
Robyn was the Chair of the Kawakawa Bay Community Association for six years, during which tenure the hall was returned to community management and the fishing rod gateway icon was completed, along with organised events and activities. Robyn was also the Secretary and Treasurer of the Kawakawa Bay Boating Club, but most of all, was a positive and giving person for the Kawakawa Bay community at large.

Approval for a new private road name at 293 Kitchener Road, Pukekohe |

Resolution number FR/2021/105 MOVED by Member L Soole, seconded by Member M Bell: That the Franklin Local Board: a) approves the name Māratupu Way for the new private road created by way of subdivision at 293 Kitchener Road, Pukekohe, in accordance with section 319(1)(j) of the Local Government Act 1974 (resource consent references R/JSL/2017/1516 and SUB60219377). |

Resolution number FR/2021/106 MOVED by Member A Kinzett, seconded by Member L Soole: That the Franklin Local Board: a) adopt the Joint Engagement Plan 2021-2022 as agreed between the local board and Auckland Council’s substantive Council-Controlled Organisations: Auckland Transport, Auckland Unlimited, Panuku Development Auckland, and Watercare b) note that the Joint Engagement Plan is a live document that will be updated as needed, with changes reported to the local board each quarter. c) authorise the chair of the local board to sign this agreement on behalf of the local board, in conjunction with representatives from the four CCOs. |

Urgent Decision - Provide local board feedback on a Notice of Requirement for a secondary school on Jesmond Road |

Resolution number FR/2021/108 MOVED by Chairperson A Baker, seconded by Member A Cole: That the Franklin Local Board: a) note the urgent decision completed on 30 June 2021, to provide local board views on the Notice of Requirement for a new secondary school and early childhood education centre at 401 Jesmond Road and part of 281 and part of 341 Jesmond Road, Drury West, as follows: i) support the Ministry of Education acquisition of land for a school at Drury West, noting that a school will be an important centre for this growing community ii) request that the Ministry of Education work with Auckland Transport proactively to identify a suite of actions needed to be addressed by the Ministry in the development of the site, e.g. pedestrian crossings, footpath network, cycling infrastructure iii) encourage investigation of opportunities for provision of shared open space facilities iv) endorse the local board appointment of Andrew Baker, Chairperson of the Franklin Local Board to speak to the local board views at a hearing (if one is held) on the Notice of Requirement. |
