The Chairperson welcomed new members Mr Jamey Holloway, Business Improvement District (replacing Mr Michael Richardson) and Mr Antony Phillips, City Centre Residents Group (replacing Mr Adam Parkinson) to their first meeting.

 

Ms Anahera Rawiri opened the meeting with a karakia.

MOVED by Chairperson AG Gaukrodger, seconded by Ms N Buckland:  

That the Auckland City Centre Advisory Board:

a)         accept the apologies from Mr N Murphy for absence and Mayor P Goff for absence on council business.

That the Auckland City Centre Advisory Board:

a)      provide insights and advice on current issues and opportunities to support city centre outcomes.

City Centre Targeted Rate Portfolio update

 

Staff provided a PowerPoint presentation in support of this item. A copy has been placed on the official minutes and is available on the Auckland Council website as a minutes attachment.

 

Note:   changes were made to the original recommendations adding clause c) with the agreement of the meeting.

 

 

Resolution number CEN/2021/18

MOVED by Mr P Reynolds, seconded by Mr GC Crawford:  

That the Auckland City Centre Advisory Board:

a)      note the City Centre Targeted Rate Portfolio update

b)      provide insights on the city centre needs and opportunities that could benefit from immediate investment from the available $500,000

c)      request an update on Queens Wharf from Panuku.

Update on the Midtown Programme

 

Note:   changes were made to the original recommendations adding clause b) with the agreement of the meeting.

 

 

Resolution number CEN/2021/19

MOVED by Deputy Chairperson JM Mooney, seconded by Mr P Reynolds:  

That the Auckland City Centre Advisory Board:

a)      note the update report on the midtown programme

b)      note the importance of balancing place with transport and servicing functions for Hobson and Nelson streets.

9          Consideration of Extraordinary Items

 

There was no consideration of extraordinary items.

 

 

 

Note:      The Chairperson paid tribute to the contributions of retiring members Kate Darrow, Adam Parkinson and Michael Richardson and requested that this be recorded in the minutes.

Michael Richardson acknowledged and thanked the Mayor and elected members for their commitment to the upgrade of Karangahape Road.

Adam Parkinson reflected that it had been a great five year journey. He welcomed his successor Antony Phillips and thanked Noelene Buckland for her ongoing commitment.

Cr Chris Darby expressed appreciation from Auckland Council for the immense contribution from both Adam Parkinson and Michael Richardson.

 

 

Ms Anahera Rawiri closed the meeting with a karakia.
