Resolution number GBI/2021/135 MOVED by Deputy Chairperson L Coles, seconded by Member V Toki: That the Aotea / Great Barrier Local Board: a) receive the Allocation of Local Board Transport Capital Fund report November 2021. b) approve expenditure of the Local Board Transport Capital Fund as follows (based on rough order costs): · $350,000 towards road seal extension projects on Kawa and Motairehe Roads · $50,000 towards installation of a Locky-Dock EV bike charging station in Port Fitzroy.

National Emissions Reduction Plan Discussion Document – draft council submission |

Resolution number GBI/2021/138 MOVED by Deputy Chairperson L Coles, seconded by Member S Daly: That the Aotea / Great Barrier Local Board: a) support Auckland Council’s comprehensive draft submission to the National Emissions Reduction Plan in particular: i) the proposal to create an economy for carbon reduction locally by regenerating forests and sequestering carbon in NZ’s ecosystems including coastal blue carbon sinks, and ii) the recommendation of a futures (foresight) approach to ensure we are future-proofing solutions for generations. b) note a growing concern for the lack of monitoring and mitigation of data storage emissions. c) thank Auckland Council staff for their excellent work preparing the National Emissions Reduction Plan submission on behalf of council.
