Chairperson I Fordham opened the hui and welcomed everyone in attendance.

The Aotea Great Barrier Island’s Emergency Response Team is made up of representatives from Mana Whenua, Auckland Council, Aotea / Great Barrier Local Board, Health Services, Fire & Emergency New Zealand (FENZ), Aotea Family Support Group, Police and Department of Conservation. |

Resolution number GBI/2021/156 MOVED by Deputy Chairperson L Coles, seconded by Member S Daly: That the Aotea / Great Barrier Local Board: a) thank the Aotea Emergency Response Team for their superhuman mahi in managing 107 days of Auckland’s COVID-19 lockdown in order to maintain the island’s safety. We are grateful for everything they did, and continue to do, for the community. |

Resolution number GBI/2021/159 MOVED by Chairperson I Fordham, seconded by Member S Daly: That the Aotea / Great Barrier Local Board: a) receive the performance report for quarter one ending 30 September 2021. b) note that the Customer and Community Services Capex work programme been updated to reflect financial deferrals (Attachment C of the report). c) approve allocation of the unspent freshwater management funding to purchase plants for the 2021/2022 or 2022/2023 planting season to mitigate the risk of an underspend for the activity and ensure water quality outcomes are achieved on the island. d) approve allocation of the unspent accessway and linkages funding to assist the design and scope of the Ngāti Rehua Ngātiwai ki Aotea pou whenua project. e) thank all staff and contractors for their advice, hard mahi and ability to adapt to COVID-19 lockdown protocols over the past months.

Resolution number GBI/2021/160 MOVED by Chairperson I Fordham, seconded by Deputy Chairperson L Coles: That the Aotea / Great Barrier Local Board: a) receive the Council-controlled Organisations Quarterly Update for Quarter One 2021-22. b) adopt the updated Joint CCO Engagement Plan 2021-2022 as agreed between the local board and Auckland Council’s substantive Council-Controlled Organisations: Auckland Transport, Auckland Unlimited, and Eke Panuku Development Auckland.
