Kim Murdoch addressed the meeting, on behalf of the Browns Bay Business Association, regarding the Auckland Transport project at the corner of Bute and Beach roads, delivered between 28 March to 15 July 2022.

a)    request that Auckland Transport provide a report to to the September 2022 business meeting of the Hibiscus and Bays Local Board on

i)             their review of how the Bute Road/Beach Road intersection upgrade was carried out

ii)            what improvements could be made for future projects including stake holder engagements, prior to the projects commencing.

Victor Jia, addressed the meeting on behalf of Victor Apartments, regarding public access to private land at 6 Bute Road Browns Bay, next to The Victor Building Apartments.

Proposed new community lease to The Hibiscus Coast Community House Incorporated at 2a Centreway Road, Orewa

 

Resolution number HB/2022/110

MOVED by Member J Fitzgerald, seconded by Member L Willis:  

That the Hibiscus and Bays Local Board:

a)      grant a new community lease to The Hibiscus Coast Community House for an area comprising approximately 1848m2 located at 2a Centreway Road, Orewa on the land legally described as Lot 2 Deposited Plan 204342 (as per Attachment A to the Agenda Report – Site Plan), subject to the following terms and conditions:

i)    term – 10 years, commencing 1 September 2022, with one 10-year right of renewal

ii)   rent – $1.00 plus GST per annum if demanded

iii)  Community Outcomes Plan - to be appended to the lease as a schedule of the lease agreement (as per Attachment B  to the Agenda Report– Community Outcomes Plan)

b)      approve all other terms and conditions in accordance with the Auckland Council Community Occupancy Guidelines 2012 and the Reserves Act 1977

c)      note that public notification and iwi engagement for Auckland Council’s intention to grant a new community lease to the Hibiscus Coast Community House located at Western Reserve, 2a Centreway Road, Orewa has been undertaken between 16 June 2022 to 15 July 2022

d)      note that no objections to the notified proposal of the new community lease were received.

a)      receive the performance report for quarter four ending 30 June 2022

b)      note the financial performance report will remain confidential until after the Auckland Council Group results for 2021/2022 are released to the New Zealand’s Exchange (NZX) which are expected to be made public on or about 29 August 2022.

That the Hibiscus and Bays Local Board:

a)         provides the following feedback on the proposed Auckland Climate Grant programme 2022/2023:

i)    support the proposed Auckland Climate Grant scheme, including the purpose, scope, and criteria, as an important mechanism to support local community-based climate mitigation projects

ii)   requests that the scope or criteria should include a focus on projects with a positive impact on local communities

iii)  requests that when allocating this fund, one of the criteria be to ensure a fair geographic spread of projects

iv) requests that when allocating this fund, consideration should be given to whether applications will benefit low, or fixed income, residents.
