MOVED by Chairperson N Bakulich, seconded by Member C O'Brien:   

That the Māngere-Ōtāhuhu Local Board:

a)          approve the request for electronic attendance from Member Rasmussen and Member Togiamua to accommodate the members being at a place that makes their physical presence at the meeting impossible or impracticable.

Note: Pursuant to Standing Order 3.3.1, members of the local board or its committees have the right to attend meetings by means of an electronic link, provided conditions of the standing orders are met.

4.1 – Local Board consideration to allocate $10,000 from the local board’s work programme #279 Community Grants to #293 Event partnership fund

Resolution number MO/2022/153

MOVED by Chairperson N Bakulich, seconded by Member M Kolo:  

That the Māngere-Ōtāhuhu Local Board:

a)          agree to consider the extraordinary business for the local board to allocate $10,000 from the local board’s work programme #279 Community Grants to #293 Event partnership fund outlined in the report “Reallocation of funds - Toa Samoa Fanday David Lange Park 98 Bader Drive Mangere” attached at item 5.1.

5          Te Whakaaro ki ngā Take Pūtea e Autaia ana | Consideration of Extraordinary Items

 

5.1 – Local Board consideration to allocate $10,000 from the local board’s work programme #279 Community Grants to #293 Event partnership fund.

A report requiring a decision from the local board was tabled at the meeting to be considered under extraordinary business. The decision is required by 17 November 2022 to allow organisers sufficient time to prepare for the event scheduled for 19 November 2022.

A copy of the report is on the official minutes and will be available on the Auckland Council website as a minute attachment.

 

Resolution number MO/2022/154

MOVED by Chairperson N Bakulich, seconded by Member M Kolo:  

That the Māngere-Ōtāhuhu Local Board:

a)       allocate $10,000 from the local board’s community grants budget from work programme #279 to the local board’s events partnership fund work programme #293 to support the Toa Samoa Official Fan Day David Lange Park, 98 Bader Drive, Māngere on Saturday 19 November 2022

b)       request the fund is managed by Auckland Council’s Customer and Community Services - events team, to disburse to the event organisers and to use the funds to contribute towards the security, and health and safety costs at the Toa Samoa Official Fan Day event at David Lange Park, 98 Bader Drive, Māngere on Saturday 19 November 2022

c)       request officers from events team to update the local board on the event at the Toa Samoa Official Fan Day David Lange Park, 98 Bader Drive, Māngere on Saturday 19 November 2022 through its regular quarterly reports

d)       delegate to the chair and/or deputy chair to approve details of the use of the allocated budget and take any other actions required to ensure the success of the event and the safety of the community at the event at the Toa Samoa Official Fan Day, David Lange Park, 98 Bader Drive, Māngere on Saturday 19 November 2022.
