6.1 Acknowledgement
Resolution number MT/2023/2 MOVED by Member C Makoare, seconded by Member P McGlashan: That the Maungakiekie-Tāmaki Local Board: a) acknowledge the victims of flooding, the families and friends affected in Auckland and around Aotearoa, as well as the four people who died in this event. We acknowledge and thank emergency, rescue and medical staff, Auckland Council, many agencies, the many volunteers for working together to address this catastrophic flooding event in our city. We thank the staff and agencies for supporting the emergency evacuation centres and our new Onehunga Support Hub. b) acknowledge the passing of Matua Jim Pene. A local Kaumatua who supported the Tamaki Community including Ruapōtaka Marae and the Matariki Light Trail over the past 10 years. |

Resolution number MT/2023/6 MOVED by Member N Henry, seconded by Member D Allan: That the Maungakiekie-Tāmaki Local Board: b) delegate authority to the local board Chair to approve any changes required to finalise the local consultation document and supporting information content for the Maungakiekie-Tāmaki Local Board for the Annual Budget 2023/2024. c) approve the following Have Your Say event in the local board area during the Annual Budget 2023/2024 consultation period: i) community event – stall at Onehunga Festival: 4 March 2023 (10am – 1pm), Onehunga Bay Reserve ii) drop in event – stall at Mt Wellington night market: 7 March 2023 (6pm – 8pm), 201 Mount Wellington Highway (under Mt Wellington Countdown) e) delegate to the following elected members and staff the power and responsibility to receive feedback and hear from the public through “spoken (or New Zealand sign language) interaction” at the council’s public engagement events during the consultation period for the Annual Budget 2023/2024: i) local board members and Chair ii) General Manager Local Board Services, Local Area Manager, Local Board Senior Advisor, Local Board Advisor, Local Board Engagement Advisor iii) any additional staff approved by the General Manager Local Board Services or the Group Chief Financial Officer |
