Chairperson S Milne welcomed those present and began the meeting with a karakia.

a)          confirm the ordinary minutes of its meeting, held on Thursday, 8 December 2022 and the extraordinary minutes of its meeting, held on Thursday, 9 February 2023, as a true and correct record.

There were no requests for leaves of absence.

 

 

6          Te Mihi | Acknowledgements

 

The Ōrākei Local Board acknowledges the effect of the recent weather events, and sends its condolences to everyone in the community affected by the flooding. The board would like to especially acknowledge the loss of one of our valued community members, Dave Lennard. 

 

The board also thanks volunteers, staff and the Mayor and Deputy Mayor for their efforts, and continued assistance to the community, especially following Cyclone Gabrielle.

b)          refer the presentation to staff for further advice including identifying effects on the community on the proposal.

9          Te Matapaki Tūmatanui  | Public Forum

Public Forum - Susan Bartley

 

Susan Bartley was in attendance to present to the board on a development proposed for 7 St Vincent’s Avenue, that will affect St Vincent’s retirement village and requested that this proposal go out for public notification to allow residents to give feedback, and asked for board support.

Auckland Council’s Performance Report: Ōrākei  Local Board for quarter two 2022/2023

 

Justin Kary, Senior Local Board Advisor, and Sugenthy Thomson, Lead Financial Advisor, were in attendance to speak to this report.

That the Ōrākei Local Board:

a)          receive the performance report for quarter two ending 31 December 2022.

b)         note the financial performance report in Attachment B of the agenda report will remain confidential until after the Auckland Council Group half-year results for 2022/2023 are released to the New Zealand Exchange (NZX), which are expected to be made public on or about 28 February 2023.

c)          request staff to provide further information on re-allocating $20,000 from Local Civic events Ōrākei - Environmental Forum ID 323.

a)   note the urgent decision to approve the Ōrākei Local Board feedback (Attachments B and C to the Agenda Report) on the submission on the Inquiry into the 2022 Local Elections draft Future for Local Government Report.

That the Ōrākei Local Board:

a)      note the Ōrākei Local Board Resolutions Pending Action report as at 16 February 2023.

b)      agree that resolution OR/2021/8 where the board requested “Auckland Transport to positively consider installing for safety reasons, a pedestrian refuge in Tamaki Drive” can be completed, as the board has given direction to stop proceeding with the investigation on this project so that funding from the Local Board Transport Capital Fund can be allocated to other projects.
