Resolution number ADCCC/2023/2 MOVED by Chairperson D Simpson, seconded by Cr C Fletcher: That the Auckland Domain Committee: a) whiwhi/receive the Auckland Domain Event Update for the period 1 July 2022 – 30 June 2023. b) tuhi ā-taipitopito/note that one of the key roles of the Auckland Domain Committee is to ensure the ongoing maintenance and protection of the Auckland Domain assets, including the quality of the grounds c) tono/request staff to clarify the permit process for events, including Council’s role, and Council’s ability to cancel events where there is a high risk of damage to the Auckland Domain assets d) tono/request advice from staff, including legal advice, about how Council can ensure that disputes about remedial costs are avoided and Council is able to enforce these more easily e) tono/requests staff to report back on event and revenue opportunities for the Pukekawa/ Auckland Domain. |

Resolution number ADCCC/2023/3 MOVED by Chairperson D Simpson, seconded by Member A Bonham: That the Auckland Domain Committee: a) whiwhi/receive the Pukekawa Auckland Domain – Work Programme Update report. b) tuhi ā-taipitopito/note that the Wintergarden Tropical House seismic works have been completed within budget, and that this facility will be open to the public in March c) gives thanks to all that have contributed to preserving the domain’s heritage nature d) tuhi ā-taipitopito/note that replacement of the Wintergarden natural gas boiler with a clean burning biomass wood pellet burner will positively contribute towards reducing carbon emissions and contribute towards achieving Auckland’s Climate Action Plan. e) tuhi ā-taipitopito/note that of the nine projects within this financial year’s Pukekawa/Auckland Domain work programme, six have been completed. |

Resolution number ADCCC/2023/4 MOVED by Chairperson D Simpson, seconded by Member A Bonham: That the Auckland Domain Committee: a) whiwhi/receive the Pukekawa Auckland Domain - flooding and cyclone damage update report. b) tuhi ā-taipitopito/note that Pukekawa Auckland Domain played a critical role in retaining flood waters during the severe weather events, which lessened the impact on the surrounding properties c) tuhi ā-taipitopito/note that although the recent weather events have had a significant impact on the Pukekawa/Auckland Domain sports fields, duck pond, tracks and trees, immediate clean-up efforts have ensured that the park is accessible and safe to use by the public d) tuhi ā-taipitopito/note that there have been flood and cyclone related damage within some of the leased areas in Pukekawa/Auckland Domain, and that the clean-up and repair of these will be covered by the lessees e) whakamihi/thank staff for their immediate action following the flood and cyclone damage f) tuhi ā-taipitopito/note that education around the public health issues relating to flood water retention needs to be communicated to Aucklanders, given that the water quality in these flooding events is not safe g) tono/request Healthy Waters, in collaboration with Parks and Community Facilities explore how the natural and built infrastructure of the park may become even better at reducing the flow of water and debris to areas below Pukekawa/ Auckland Domain that will make the Domain and surrounding areas more resilient to storms. |

Resolution number ADCCC/2023/5 MOVED by Chairperson D Simpson, seconded by Member G Sage: That the Auckland Domain Committee: a) whakaae / approve the Auckland Domain Committee’s forward work programme (Attachment A of the report). b) whakaae / agree that the Auckland Domain Committee’s forward work programme be reported for information on a six-monthly basis. |
