That the Waiheke Local Board:

a)         thank Dr. Pam Oliver and Assoc Prof Peter Wills, representatives of Project Forever Waiheke Working Group, for their attendance and presentation regarding proposed water supply allocations to ensure sufficient supply for residents.

b)         include reference to potable water security for residents within the revised Waiheke Emergency Response Plan.

c)         include a feasibility study for prioritisation of residential water supply within the draft Waiheke Local Board Plan.

Public Forum - Julie Ingham - Flooding incidents at 29 Eden Terrace

That the Waiheke Local Board:

a)         thank Julie Ingham for speaking to the flooding at her property at 29 Eden Terrace in Onetangi.

b)         request Auckland Transport staff liaise directly with Chair Handley and Member Walden in advance of direct contact with Julie Ingham.

c)         request Healthy Waters urgently address the clearance of all stormwater infrastructure outside the properties above the referenced site.

Auckland Council’s Quarterly Performance Report: Waiheke Local Board for quarter three 2022/2023

 

Resolution number WHK/2023/58

MOVED by Member R Tucker, seconded by Deputy Chairperson B Ranson:  

That the Waiheke Local Board:

a)      receive the performance report for quarter three ending 31 March 2023.

b)      allocate $10,000 from the Sustainable community and tourism Locally Driven Initiatives (LDI) budget to the Waiheke Walking Trust (WWT) for further development and marketing of the Walk Waiheke app.

c)      allocate $10,000 from the Māori Responsiveness Locally Driven Initiatives (LDI) budget to Piritahi Marae for infrastructure needs and delivery of community cultural development, and $10,000 to Waiheke Adult Learning for delivery of the second year of the Te Reo Māori course led by Kaiako Kaiwai Rhind.

d)      allocate $10,000 from the Community Resilience and Local Economic Development Locally Driven Initiatives (LDI) to Kai Waiheke to continue delivery of activity identified in the Waiheke Kai Charter with view to enhancing food resilience on Waiheke subject to approval by board members of a detailed proposal.

e)      allocate $10,000 from the community-led housing Locally Driven Initiatives (LDI) budget to Habitat for Humanity for the Healthy Homes Programme.

f)       reallocate the following Locally Driven Initiatives (LDI) opex budgets to support Waiheke’s emergency response, including the purchase of generators, power supply and radio transmission upgrade:

·    $300 from civic events

·    $4,585 from Community Response fund

·    $10,000 from Community Resilience and Local Economic Development

·    $1,000 from the Community emergency resilience programme

·    $1,243 film income

Total: $17,128

g)      allocate $20,000 from the Parks Quick Response capex Locally Driven Initiatives (LDI) towards generator/s to support Waiheke’s emergency response.

h)      allocate $102,335 from the Mātiatia Masterplan Local Driven Initiatives (LDI) budget towards Mātiatia related projects including wayfinding, cultural interpretive signage, mana whenua initiatives, and Te Ara Hura gateway improvements.

Draft Waiheke Destination Management Plan

a)      accept the draft Waiheke Destination Management Plan for final public feedback in accordance with its decision of 24 February 2021.

b)      delegate to the chair in consultation with board members, the responsibility to finalise the draft.

c)         request that Tātaki Auckland Unlimited provide the full data set to members prior to finalisation of the draft plan.
