Chairperson Kay Thomas opened the meeting with a karakia.

That the Whau Local Board:

a)           whakaae / accept the apology from member S Zhu for absence.

3          Te Whakapuaki i te Whai Pānga | Declaration of Interest

 

Members are reminded of the need to be vigilant to stand aside from decision making when a conflict arises between their role as a member and any private or other external interest they might have.

Draft Whau Local Board Plan 2023

 

Resolution number WH/2023/64

MOVED by Chairperson K Thomas, seconded by Member W Piper:   

That the Whau Local Board:

a)      whakaae / approve the draft Whau Local Board Plan 2023 for inclusion in the statement of proposal (Attachment A).

b)      tautapa / delegate authority to the Chairperson to approve final changes to the draft Whau Local Board Plan 2023.

c)      whai / adopt the statement of proposal for the draft Whau Local Board Plan 2023 for public consultation using the special consultative procedure (Attachment B).

d)      whai / adopt the summary of the statement of proposal for the draft Whau Local Board Plan 2023 (Attachment C).

e)      whakaae / approve the following Have Your Say events for the draft Whau Local Board Plan 2023 during the consultation period:

i)       Community hui – Wednesday, 26 July at 5.00pm, New Lynn War Memorial Library, 3 Memorial Drive, New Lynn.

f)       tautapa / delegate to the following elected members and staff the power and responsibility to hear from the public through ‘spoken’ interaction, at the council’s public engagement events, during the consultation period for the draft Whau Local Board Plan 2023:

ii)     local board members and chairperson

iii)   General Manager Local Board Services, Local Board Local Area Manager, Local Board Senior Advisor, Local Board Advisor, Local Board Engagement Advisor

iv)   any additional staff approved by the General Manager Local Board Services or the Group Chief Financial Officer.

Adoption of the Whau Local Board Agreement 2023/2024

 

An updated version of the Whau Local Board Agreement 2023/2024 was tabled, and a copy has been placed on the official minutes and is available on the Auckland Council website as a minutes attachment.

 

Resolution number WH/2023/65

MOVED by Chairperson K Thomas, seconded by Member R Clow:   

That the Whau Local Board:

a)      whai / adopt the local content for the Annual Budget, which includes the Whau Local Board Agreement 2023/2024, the message from the chair, and approved local board advocacy as tabled.

b)      whai / adopt a local fees and charges schedule for 2023/2024 (Attachment B).

c)      tautapa / delegate authority to the Chair to make any final changes to the local content for the Annual Budget 2023/2024 (the Whau Local Board Agreement 2023/2024, message from the chair, and local board advocacy).

d)      tuhi ā-taipitopito / note that the resolutions of this meeting will be reported back to the Governing Body when it meets to adopt the Annual Budget 2023/2024, including each Local Board Agreement, on 29 June 2023.
