Acknowledgement - Dr Karlina Tongotea

MOVED by Chairperson G Murphy, seconded by Member H Andrew:  

That the Manurewa Local Board:

a)           acknowledge Dr Karlina Tongotea competed who in The International Powerlifting Federation’s 2023 IPF World Classic Open Powerlifting Championships winning 2 Gold medals and 2 silver medals including being the World number 1 and setting a new world record on the squat. Daughter of proud Hillpark parents Robert and Joe Anne Tongotea, Karlina grew up in Manurewa attending school and playing netball in Manurewa and played representative Netball for Manurewa. Proudly supported by her family and 4 siblings, a very proud moment for them all and a fantastic achievement indeed that the Manurewa Local Board wishes to acknowledge. Well done Dr Tongotea!

a)           acknowledge the following Manurewa Intermediate Girls Rugby Teams:

·        Open Girls Auckland Intermediate champions

·        Under 55kg Girls Auckland Intermediate champions

Acknowledgement - Dr Peter Didsbury

a)           acknowledge the retirement of Dr Peter Didsbury after more than thirty years of service to the Clendon community as a GP and former chair of ProCare.

Adoption of the Manurewa Local Board Agreement 2023/2024

 

Resolution number MR/2023/102

MOVED by Member A Lesa, seconded by Member A Cunningham-Marino:  

That the Manurewa Local Board:

a)      adopt the local content for the Annual Budget, which includes the Manurewa Local Board Agreement 2023/2024, the message from the chair, and approved local board advocacy (Attachment A)

b)      adopt a local fees and charges schedule for 2023/2024 (Attachment B)

c)      delegate authority to the Chair to make any final changes to the local content for the Annual Budget 2023/2024 (the Manurewa Local Board Agreement 2023/2024, message from the chair, and local board advocacy)

d)      note that the resolutions of this meeting will be reported back to the Governing Body when it meets to adopt the Annual Budget 2023/2024, including each Local Board Agreement, on 29 June 2023.

Draft Manurewa Local Board Plan 2023

 

An updated version of the Summary of the Draft Local Board Plan was tabled at the meeting.

A copy has been placed on the official minutes and is available on the Auckland Council

website as a minutes attachment.

 

Resolution number MR/2023/103

MOVED by Chairperson G Murphy, seconded by Member A Lesa:  

That the Manurewa Local Board:

a)      approve the draft Manurewa Local Board Plan 2023 for inclusion in the statement of proposal (Attachment A to the agenda report)

b)      delegate authority to the Chairperson to approve final changes to the draft Manurewa Local Board Plan 2023

c)      adopt the summary of the draft local board plan for the statement of proposal, tabled at the meeting (Attachment A)

d)      adopt the statement of proposal for public consultation using the special consultative procedure (Attachment C to the agenda report)

e)      approve the following Have Your Say events during the consultation period:

·    Have Your Say – Saturday, 29 July 2023, 10.00am -1pm – Te Pātaka Kōrero o Manurewa - Manurewa Library, Manurewa.

f)       delegate to the following elected members and staff the power and responsibility to hear from the public through ‘spoken’ (or New Zealand sign language) interaction, at the council’s public engagement events, during the consultation period for the local board plan:

·    local board members and chairperson

·    General Manager Local Board Services, Local Board Services Local Area Manager, Local Board Senior Advisor, Local Board Advisor, Local Board Engagement Advisor

·    any additional staff approved by the General Manager Local Board Services or the Group Chief Financial Officer

g)      request that the local engagement staff produce a video that can be shared through local channels, to enable Manurewa communities to access and understand the draft Manurewa Local Board Plan 2023 and objectives.
