Approval of the 2023/2024 Whau Local Board Customer and Community Services work programme |

Resolution number WH/2023/81 MOVED by Chairperson K Thomas, seconded by Member W Piper: That the Whau Local Board: a) whakaae /approve the 2023/2024 Customer and Community Services work programme and its associated budget (Attachment A to the agenda report), subject to the following changes. i) work programme ID 504, Whau Community Grants - decrease budget from $90,000 to $82,500. ii) work programme ID 683, Whau Urban Ngahere Growing - increase budget from $0 to $7,500. b) whakaae /approve in principle the 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 Customer and Community Services – Parks and Community Facilities only work programme (Attachment A to the agenda report). c) whakaae /approve the Risk Adjusted Programme projects identified in the 2023/2024 Customer and Community Services work programme (Attachment A to the agenda report). d) whakarite / provide feedback for consideration by the Planning, Environment and Parks Committee on projects funded from the Slips Prevention, Local Parks and Sports Field Development budgets (Attachment C to the agenda report), which includes that the Whau Local Board: i) tautoko / support the continued partnership between Auckland Council and central Government on progressing Te Whau Pathway project. e) tuhi ā-taipitopito / note that funding for the Coastal Renewals, Slips Prevention, Local Parks and Sports Field Development budgets is subject to approval by the Planning, Environment and Parks Committee. f) acknowledge the huge work undertaken by staff given the challenging circumstances and financial pressures due to the Annual Budget. |

MOVED by Chairperson K Thomas, seconded by Member S Zhu: That the Whau Local Board: a) whakarite /provide feedback to the Governing Body on whether the electoral system should be changed from First Past the Post to Single Transferable Voting for the 2025 elections, which includes that the Whau Local Board: i) welcome the opportunity to provide feedback. ii) tono / request that public consultation take place prior to any changes to the 2025 Auckland Council elections (unless the changes are mandated by Government). |

Resolution number WH/2023/85 MOVED by Chairperson K Thomas, seconded by Member S Paterson-Hamlin: That the Whau Local Board: a) whiwhi / receive the council-controlled organisation update on the work programme (April-June 2023) and anticipated milestones and engagement approaches for Quarter One (July-September 2023). b) tono / request a report from Auckland Transport on the impact of the budget reductions on the Local Board Transport Capital Fund and Whau Local Board projects. c) tuhi ā-taipitopito / note its concerns and disappointment that the local board was not informed of the proposed sale of Haumaru Green Bay housing in the local board area before it appeared in the publicly available agenda. |
