Election of Seniors Advisory Panel co-chairs for the 2022 - 2025 term

Nominations for Seniors Advisory Panel co-chairs

Claire Dale

I would like to nominate Claire Dale and Susanne Tapsell as co-chairs for the seniors advisory panel for this term. I believe Susanne and Claire would work well together as Claire has the knowledge of the panel’s last three years and Susanne brings years of  experience of Council processes to the table. As we are all limited to two terms, it makes sense to share the role between a previous member and a new member to provide the opportunity for continuity for the panel in the future.

Regards

Lindsay Waugh

Susanne Tapsell

I would like to nominate Claire Dale and Susanne Tapsell as co-chairs for the seniors advisory panel for this term. I believe Susanne and Claire would work well together as Claire has the knowledge of the panel’s last three years and Susanne brings years of  experience of Council processes to the table. Edwina Pio

I wish to nominate Edwina Pio ONZM. Having carefully considered the role specifications, responsibilities, and relationship requirements. Edwina has the requisite skills and qualities to undertake (either/or) the Chair or Co-chair role. She is widely travelled and has lived in and has interacted with organisations pertaining to changing demography in many countries throughout the world and this base of experience and knowledge can further enhance her stewardship of our panel and the work we undertake on behalf of the Mayor, the wider Council, and citizens of Auckland

Thanks Gavin Jones

Leigh Featherstone

I support Gavin's nomination of Edwina Pio as Chair based on her accomplishments and my observations of her contributions at our meetings. At the same time I wish to put myself forward as Co-Chair and/or Chair. My skill set as a Certified Advisory Board Chair equips me for the role.  The chief advantage I would bring to the Panel's business is to complement Edwina's understanding of culture, diversity and sheer mana with with an appreciation of operational realities, and a desire to help my fellow Panel members achieve their goals for this Term and through advice on policy and practicalities deliver a demonstrable beneficial impact on the daily lives of all us Seniors.

Ngā mihi

Leigh
