Chairperson Glenn Murphy declared an interest in Item 14 Auckland Council’s Performance Report: Manukau Local Board for quarter one 2023/2024, specifically in relation to Manukau New Life Community Trust who run the Christmas in the Park event.

Daniel Barthow and Sterling Ruwhiu from The Beautification Trust were in attendance to provide the board with an update on the work that they have undertaken over the past year.

Manurewa Local Board Transport Capital Fund Report

 

Resolution number MR/2023/195

MOVED by Member A Candy, seconded by Chairperson G Murphy:  

That the Manurewa Local Board:

a)      whakaae / approve in principle the allocation of the Manurewa Local Board Transport Capital Fund 2022-2025 subject to the final decision by Waka Kotahi to allocate Climate Emergency Response Funding (CERF) in Manurewa, including for the installation of a pedestrian crossing near the Nanaksar Sikh Temple on Great South Road, in priority order as follows:

i)       Te Mahia Station - $1,064,993

ii)      Roys Road Traffic Calming - $175,000

iii)     Riverton/Porchester corner - $200,000

iv)     Local Driver Feedback signs - $16,000

v)      Real Time display Board - $40,000

vi)     Dennis Avenue Speed Calming - $240,209

b)          tuhi ā-taipitopito / note that the cost for Auckland Transport to deliver the pedestrian crossing near the Nanaksar Sikh Temple on Great South Road is $285,843 including contingency

c)           whakaae / agree that, in the event the decision on allocating Climate Emergency Response Funding (CERF) is put on hold, the local board prioritise delivery of the pedestrian crossing near the Nanaksar Sikh Temple on Great South Road, using its Manurewa Local Board Transport Capital Fund 2022-2025, and defer delivery of the following to ensure available budget:

i)             Real Time display Board - $40,000

ii)           Dennis Avenue Speed Calming - $240,209

d)          whakahē / decline proceeding with the railway station awnings

e)           tuhi ā-taipitopito / note that $823,112 additional budget has been approved to cover current contractual commitments.

Auckland Council’s Performance Report: Manurewa Local Board for quarter one 2023/2024

 

Chairperson Glenn Murphy declared an interest in this item and took no part in the discussion or voting on the matter.

Chairperson Glenn Murphy vacated the chair in favour of Deputy Chairperson Matt Winiata at 2.24pm.

 

MOVED by Deputy Chairperson M Winiata, seconded by Member A Candy:  

That the Manurewa Local Board:

a)      receive the performance report for quarter one ending 30 September 2023 in Attachment A

b)      note that, due to the cancellation of the Manurewa Christmas Fun Day and Santa Parade event, there is an underspend of $20,000 in work programme line 280 ‘Event partnership fund Manurewa’

c)      allocate $15,000 of the $20,000 underspend in work programme line 280 ‘Event partnership fund Manurewa’ to the Manurewa Christmas in the Park event in the same work programme line

d)           whakaae / approve in principle the remaining $5,000 underspend to be used as a rain contingency for Manurewa Christmas in the Park event should it be needed.

That the Manurewa Local Board:

c)           allocate $10,000 of the $20,000 underspend in work programme line 280 ‘Event partnership fund Manurewa’ to the Manurewa Christmas in the Park event in the same work programme line

d)           allocate $10,000 underspend in work programme line 280 'Event partnership fund Manurewa' to advanced booking of items for the 2024 Santa Parade.
