The Chairperson opened the meeting, welcomed those in attendance followed by Member Adrian Tyler leading the meeting with a karakia.

Jill Nerheny, Manager of Kaipātiki Community Facilities Trust, and Janet Cole, Manager of Kaipātiki Project, were in attendance to address the board on this item

 

 

Resolution number KT/2023/237

MOVED by Deputy Chairperson D Grant, seconded by Member T Spring:  

That the Kaipātiki Local Board:

a)          receive the deputation from Kaipātiki Community Facilities Trust and Kaipātiki Project and thank Jill Nerheny and Janet Cole for their attendance and presentation. 

b)         refer the funding request to the appropriate council staff (refer to Attachment A – Storm Recovery and Resilience - Kaipātiki).

10-year Budget 2024-2034 - local consultation content

 

Paul Edwards, Senior Local Board Advisor, was in attendance to address the board on this item.

 

A document titled ‘Replacement Chair’s Message’ was tabled. A copy of the

tabled document has been placed on the official minutes and is available on the Auckland

Council website as a minutes attachment.

 

 

Resolution number KT/2023/238

MOVED by Chairperson J Gillon, seconded by Member A Tyler:  

That the Kaipātiki Local Board:

a)          note the tabled replacement Chair’s Message.

b)         approve local consultation document content (refer to Attachment A of the agenda report) and local supporting information content (refer to Attachment B of the agenda report) for inclusion in the 10-year Budget 2024-2034 consultation material.

c)          delegate authority to the local board Chair, in consultation with the Deputy Chair,  to approve any changes required to finalise the local consultation document and supporting information content for the Kaipātiki Local Board for the 10-year Budget 2024-2034.  

d)         note that public consultation on the 10-year budget 2024-2034 is planned to take place between 28 February and 28 March 2024.

e)          approve the following Have Your Say events in the local board area during the 10-year Budget 2024-2034 consultation period:

i)           drop-in at Movies in Parks, Friday 1 March 2023, 6.30pm – 8.30pm,  Greenslade Reserve, Northcote.

ii)         drop-in at World of Cultures festival, Saturday 23 March, time 10.00am – 3.00pm, Northcote Town Centre.

f)           delegate authority to the local board Chair, in consultation with the Deputy Chair, to approve any changes required to the Have Your Say events.

g)         note the local board’s intention to meet with key community stakeholders including local Māori as part of information sharing on the 10-Year Budget 2024-2034.

h)         delegate to the following elected members and staff the power and responsibility to hear from the public through “spoken (or New Zealand sign language) interaction” in relation to the local board agreement at the council’s public engagement events during the consultation period for the 10-year Budget 2024-2034:

i)           local board members and Chair

ii)         General Manager Local Board Services, Local Area Manager, Local Board Senior Advisor, Local Board Advisor, Local Board Engagement Advisor

iii)        any additional staff approved by the General Manager Local Board Services or the Group Chief Financial Officer.

The general subject of each matter to be considered while the public is excluded, the reason for passing this resolution in relation to each matter, and the specific grounds under section 48(1) of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 for the passing of this resolution follows.

This resolution is made in reliance on section 48(1)(a) of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 and the particular interest or interests protected by section 6 or section 7 of that Act which would be prejudiced by the holding of the whole or relevant part of the proceedings of the meeting in public, as follows:

In particular, the report contains information from confidential Budget Committee workshops that has not yet been released. This information will become public when the Mayoral Proposal is released (planned to be release on 4 December 2023).
