Purpose of the report

1.       To whiwhi / receive an update from Port of Auckland Limited.

Executive summary

2.       The Transport and Infrastructure Committee has responsibility for the oversight of major transport and infrastructure matters that affect the Auckland region.

3.       Port of Auckland Limited (POAL) provides container terminal handling, bulk cargo handling, freight hubs, cruise industry facilities, and other services. Although Auckland Council owns 100 per cent of POAL, it is governed under the Port Companies Act 1988 and is not a council-controlled organisation (CCO).

4.       Chief Executive Officer, Roger Gray will provide an update and insight of moving freight via rail.

Purpose of the report

1.       To whiwhi / receive the February 2024 update from the Chief Executive of Auckland Transport on the performance of the organisation.

Executive summary

2.       The Transport and Infrastructure Committee has responsibility for the oversight of major transport and infrastructure matters that affect the Auckland region.

3.       Auckland Transport is a Controlled Organisation of Auckland Council. Auckland Transport designs, build and maintains Auckland’s roads, ferry wharves, cycleways and walkways, coordinates road safety and community transport initiatives such as school travel, and plans and funds bus, train, and ferry services across Auckland.

4.       An update (attached) will be provided by the Chief Executive on strategic issues, operational updates and key performance metrics for the most recent reporting period.

Watercare Update - February 2024

Purpose of the report

1.       To whiwhi / receive an update from Watercare Services Ltd (Watercare) on its capital programme and major infrastructure projects.

Executive summary

2.       The Transport and Infrastructure Committee has responsibility for the oversight of major transport and infrastructure matters that affect the region.

3.       Watercare is New Zealand’s largest water utility supplying safe water to Auckland’s communities and managing our wastewater network and treatment sites. Watercare is an infrastructure asset management council-controlled organisation wholly owned by Auckland Council.

4.       Senior staff from Watercare will provide an overview of its capital programme and an update on the Orakei sewer repair and relining project.

5.       The presentation to support this update is attached to this report.
