Long-Term Plan 2024-2034: local board consultation feedback and input

 

Resolution number MO/2024/40

MOVED by Chairperson N Bakulich, seconded by Member W Togiamua:  

That the Māngere-Ōtāhuhu Local Board:

a)      whiwhi / receive consultation feedback on the proposed Māngere-Ōtāhuhu Local Board priorities and activities for 2024/2025 and key advocacy initiatives for 2024-2034

b)      whiwhi / receive consultation feedback on regional topics in the Long-term Plan 2024-2034 from people and organisations based in the Māngere-Ōtāhuhu local board area

c)      whakarite / provide input on regional topics in the proposed Long-term Plan 2024-2034 and advocacy initiatives to the Governing Body outlined in Attachment A tabled at the meeting

d)      whakamihi / thank our community for its considered feedback to the Long-term Plan proposal and Annual Budget Priorities

e)      tono / request that additional resources are focused on meaningful engagement with Mana Whenua in future Long-term Plan and Annual Planning consultation. That engagement is not only sought but also valued especially involving major decisions that impact Māori communities. This is crucial for fostering strong relationships and ensuring that all decisions reflect our local priorities and Te Ao Māori, in particular haukainga

f)       tono / request that the funding options for Māngere Mountain Education Trust continues and is included in the Long-term Plan 2024-2034 budget of $300,000 (adjusted for inflation increases). And request staff from the CCO / External Partnerships Unit investigate any other budget options that the MMET can access to ensure this priceless service continues to serve the greater Auckland area including local communities

g)      recommend to the Governing Body the continuation of the local targeted rate set as a uniform charge per separately used or inhabited part of a property, on residential properties in the Māngere-Ōtāhuhu Local Board area, to fully subsidise entry to Māngere-Ōtāhuhu swimming pools for persons 17 years and over, noting the rate for 2024/2025 is forecasted to be $39.00.
