Co-Chairperson Seumanu Simon Matāfai, JP welcomed everyone and Evo Leota-Tupou opened the meeting with a karakia.

Demographic Advisory Panels LTP Closing the Loop Report

 

Tamsyn Matchett provided a PowerPoint presentation which was included in the agenda. Members acknowledged the renewed collaboration and improvement in consultation with the Pacific community.

Member Penina Tu’una’i-lfopo joined the meeting at 5.47pm.

 

 

The Pacific Peoples Advisory Panel:

a)      whiwhi / received this report as acknowledgment of the input from Auckland Council’s Advisory Panels to the Long-term Plan 2024-2034 and thanked Tamsyn Matchett for her attendance.

Pacific Aucklanders and Climate Change

 

Trudie Cain and Dave Watson provided a PowerPoint presentation which was included in the agenda. Members provided feedback to the presenters.

Regional Land Transport Plan 2024 - 2034 Auckland Transport

 

Hamish Bunn provided a PowerPoint presentation which was included in the agenda. Members provided feedback to the presenter.

 

 

The Pacific Peoples Advisory Panel:

a)      arotake / reviewed the draft Regional Land Transport Plan  and thanked Hamish Bunn for his attendance.

Community Engagement Event - Planning

 

Co-Lead, Paul Pua spoke to this item and the panel agreed to repurpose the community engagement event on 25 July 2024 to engage pacific communities around Auckland Emergency Management’s readiness plan.

 

ACTION POINTS:

Co-Leads to commence planning as soon as possible.

 

 

The Pacific Peoples Advisory Panel:

a)      whakaū / confirmed their intent to go ahead with a panel-led community engagement event as follows:

i)        repurpose the event on 25 July 2024 to engage our pacific communities around Auckland Emergency Management’s readiness plan.

Auckland Emergency Management Community Readiness Programme

 

Reg Phillips and Zoe Marr provided a PowerPoint presentation which was included in the agenda. Members provided feedback to the presenters.

 

 

The Pacific Peoples Advisory Panel:

a)      whakamihi / thanked Reg Phillips and Zoe Marr for their attendance and whakarite / provided the Auckland Emergency Management Planning Unit guidance on:

i)     opportunities to support Pasifika communities in emergency readiness and response activities

ii)    key community stakeholder groups for Auckland Emergency Management to support with emergency readiness activities

iii)   the draft Local Board Emergency Readiness and Response Plan template (Attachment A).
