Rainbow Communities Advisory Panel

Co-chairperson Josh Martin opened the meeting with a karakia.

 

 

1          Ngā Tamōtanga | Apologies

 

The Rainbow Communities Advisory Panel:

a)         whakaae / accepted the apologes from Co-chairperson Teresa Platt and Luis Meirelles for absence.

 

 

 

2          Te Whakapuaki i te Whai Pānga | Declaration of Interest

 

Members are reminded of the need to be vigilant to stand aside from decision making when a conflict arises between their role as a member and any private or other external interest they might have.

 

There were no declarations of interest.

 

 

 

3          Te Whakaū i ngā Āmiki | Confirmation of Minutes

 

The Rainbow Communities Advisory Panel:

a)         whakaū / confirmed the extraordinary minutes of its meeting, held on Tuesday, 29 August 2023, as a true and correct record.

Cr R Hills entered the meeting at 5.36pm.

a)      whiwhi / received the advisory panel co-chair and member updates.

Demographic Advisory Panels LTP Closing the Loop Report

 

A presentation was provided.  A copy is attached to the agenda available on the Auckland Council website.

 

The Rainbow Communities Advisory Panel:

a)      whiwhi / received this report as acknowledgment of the input from Auckland Council’s Advisory Panels to the Long-term Plan 2024-2034.

Auckland Transport Draft Regional Land Transport Plan 2024 - 2034

 

A presentation was provided.  A copy is attached to the agenda available on the Auckland Council website.

 

The Rainbow Communities Advisory Panel:

a)      arotake / reviewed the draft Regional Land Transport Plan in an item led by Auckland Transport staff and provide their feedback.

 

 

 

The meeting adjourned at 6.50pm reconvened at 7.02pm.

Auckland Emergency Management Community Readiness Programme

 

A presentation was provided.  A copy is attached to the agenda available on the Auckland Council website.

 

The Rainbow Communities Advisory Panel:

a)      whakarite / provided the Auckland Emergency Management Planning Unit guidance on:

i)        opportunities to support rainbow communities and promote intersectional awareness and LGBTIQ+ inclusiveness in emergency readiness and response activity

ii)       rainbow communities that could be less likely to receive readiness messaging or seek assistance during an emergency event

iii)      key community stakeholder groups for Auckland Emergency Management to support with emergency readiness activities, and recommended engagement approaches

iv)      the draft Local Board Emergency Readiness and Response Plan template (Attachment A).

 

 

 

Note:   Cr R Hills provided a verbal update on recent council business.

 

 

The meeting adjourned at 7.55pm and reconvened at 8.00pm.

Advisory Panel:

a)      whakaae / agreed to any projects to progress that align with the panel’s strategic priorities

b)      kohuki / considered if it wishes to continue planning for a public meeting on 1 October 2024.
