Mayor Toby Adams and Larn Wilkinson, Iwi and Māori Liaison Officer from Hauraki District Council welcomed the Hauraki Gulf Forum with a Karakia and a Mihi Whakatau.
Co-Chairpersons Mayor Toby Adams and Nicola MacDonald welcomed everyone to the meeting including Cr Deli Connell attending as Mayor Len Salt’s alternate and Lucy Baragwanath, the Forum’s newly appointed Executive Officer.

Members Alex Rogers and Jacob Hore spoke to the Department of Conservation and Fisheries New Zealand written report and member Cr James Sainsbury spoke to the Matamata-Piako District Council written report and answered questions from members.
Cr Wayne Walker joined the meeting in person at 1.49pm.

Resolution number HGF/2024/27 MOVED by Member B Ranson, seconded by Member C Ollivier: That the Hauraki Gulf Forum: a) note the report b) approve the 2023/24 Annual Report prior to it being submitted to the Minister for presentation to Parliament c) agree to request agencies to provide a Regional Plan in response to Avian Influenza and any additional information or relevant resources d) approve the convening of a workshop with the Executive Officer following this meeting to ensure clarity, alignment and priorities in pursuing strategic goals. |

Member Martin Mariassouce closed the meeting with a karakia.
2.30pm The Co-Chairpersons thanked members for their attendance and attention to business and declared the meeting closed.
